Betfair is one of the most iconic and enduring international bookmakers in the industry, best known for its exchange and sportsbook. Still, I found no shortage of things to like about Betfair’s slots site.
In terms of heritage, Betfair was launched back in 2000, then merged with Paddy Power in 2016 to create Flutter Entertainment, which now also incorporates many other familiar brands.
The design of Betfair’s site will be recognisable to many, with a consistent, clean, orange-black colour palette. It uses a straightforward layout of banners and tabs containing an ever-evolving selection of games.
One of the areas where Betfair really excels is in its banking terms, which allow for rapid deposits with a £5 minimum. Also, there’s no minimum limit whatsoever for withdrawals when using the right payment methods. Virtually no other casinos offer this, and I think this is a great indication that Betfair values its players.
Betfair gets top marks from me because it offers:
A varied and up-to-date games library
Great banking terms including no minimum withdrawal limit
Player security by way of a respectable and established parent company
The fact that Betfair has put some real effort into selecting the slots on offer is something I appreciate. The homepage states, “We’ve done our absolute best to cater for all casino game tastes” and “We never rest on our laurels either”. With this in mind, slot fans can expect a steady stream of new releases, including occasional exclusive launches.
Although best known amongst sports bettors, Betfair has succeeded in putting together a slot site to rival the very best of them.
Betfair scores 8/10 for Games
Betfair is home to more than 2,000 slots, and I was assured by a customer service agent that this is constantly changing. Betfair’s guiding principle is to cater to all players.
To this end, it has rounded up an impressive range of jackpot slots, Megaways, Slingo, live casino titles, game shows and classic Vegas slots.
For those looking for slots that pay out the most, here's our pick of Betfair's highest RTP slots. These are the best high RTP slots available to play at Betfair for UK players, verified by Slot Gods:
I’m a big fan of slot sites that take pride in keeping a well-maintained and up-to-date catalogue, as new releases are often some of the best games out there.
In this respect, Betfair exceeded my expectations. Not only is the library “updating every day”, according to customer support but there’s a dedicated and prominent ‘Newest Releases’ tab.
Whereas some lesser casinos’ ‘New Releases’ tabs contain games which are several months old, Betfair’s really are brand new. On top of all this, Betfair partners with developers to ensure that some new games launch exclusively on its platform.
Second to the 'Newest Releases' tab is a ‘What’s Trending’ tab. I found this to be dominated by the newest games too, suggesting that Betfair’s players enjoy these new releases. Especially popular within this section are seasonal games and the latest instalments from franchises such as Big Bass.
None of this is to say that veteran slots have been neglected! I found the ‘Classic Slots’ tab a bit sparse, but a quick search using the responsive search bar made tracking down the likes of Starburst, Eye of Horus and Book of Dead easy work.
Betfair also includes the option to sort pages alphabetically, by popularity, or ‘Betfair’s picks’, which places the newest games at the top of the section.
I couldn’t see any WowPot or Mega Moolah jackpot games, which tend to provide the largest prizes. I contacted customer support about this, and learned that Games Global and Microgaming, which offers these games, aren’t among Betfair’s partners. This means that a few popular classics like Immortal Romance and Thunderstruck are unavailable.
But this doesn’t mean there’s a general shortage of jackpots. Daily jackpots and 'Rapid Fire Jackpots' appear to be popular, and there are a good few Jackpot King titles too, as well as some exclusive six-figure progressive jackpots.
Fans of Megaways and Slingo will be glad to learn that each of these has a dedicated tab. These sections are well-equipped with the newest releases at the top.
Betfair is a sprawling site with all sorts going on. It’s best known as a sportsbook and exchange, where virtually anything can be bet on. These sections of the site are clear, comprehensive, and consistent with the casino, making them easy to navigate. Slots fans who fancy the occasional sports flutter will struggle to do better than Betfair.
The live casino offerings are also extensive. There’s everything you’d expect here, including roulette, blackjack, baccarat, game shows and more. These games come from established live casino developers including Playtech and Evolution. There are a few Betfair exclusives too.
Poker gets its own specific tab, where I found tutorials, tournaments, dedicated promos and more. It’s not uncommon for slots fans to enjoy a few poker hands every so often, and Betfair is more than capable of delivering in this respect.
There’s also an ‘Exchange Games’ tab where players can bet on or against specific outcomes of video table games. I personally think this might be worth a quick visit, but I don’t anticipate it providing hours of endless fun.
I was extremely pleased to find a bingo section. This is an area where many sites lack – even some of the biggest and best-known. The fact that Betfair has been bold enough to tick every box says that they’re serious about their efforts to build what is essentially a one-stop shop.
Betfair scores 8/10 for Promotions
Frankly, I found Betfair’s promotional offerings a little bit thin on the ground. However, in the interest of fairness, it has to be noted that this isn’t always the case. In the past, Betfair has performed well in this area, with a range of reloads, tournaments and loyalty systems.
That’s not to say I don’t appreciate the free-to-play daily pinball game. Considering that it gives players a shot at winning £1,000 every day, it’s a pretty great excuse to log in! Also, with no wagering requirements the spins are well worth having.
Tournaments are also a nice added extra, and some of the eligible Drops & Wins games are great. Tournaments run every evening and are easy to take part in. This one’s probably a no-brainer for fans of Pragmatic Play’s work, but I’m not convinced it will be a huge draw for others.
Hopefully, Betfair will buck up its ideas and return to offering the regular reloads and other attractive incentives which its players have enjoyed previously. That said, Betfair should be celebrated for its approach to wagering requirements, with the majority of free spins having no wagering requirements whatsoever.
Betfair is part of Flutter Entertainment, so it has a few well-known sister sites such as Pokerstars. This is a huge international network, but the individual sites function independently, with few obvious similarities.
Betfair doesn’t have every developer on side, but there’s no shortage of top names here. It hosts games from many of the biggest and best slot developers in the business, including NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Blueprint Gaming and more.
Live games come from Evolution and Playtech, with a few exclusives thrown in for good measure.
The bingo lobby, which launches in a separate tab, is based on Playtech software, so it will be recognisable to bingo players with experience.
All in all, the site functions well, with intelligently organised tabs, functional search and sort options, and a clear layout with large tiles.
Like other large casinos with sports, poker, live and casino subsections, Betfair offers several apps. These are available for both iOS and Android devices, and they correspond to the sports betting, casino, and exchange sections.
If you want to make use of the full site but don’t fancy downloading three apps, I’d recommend sticking with the mobile browser version. It runs really well and, in my opinion, is easier to navigate than the full version of the site, thanks to a simplified interface and same-sized tiles.
Betfair scores 10/10 for Banking
Betfair accepts a wide range of payment methods, but the specific terms and limits vary quite a bit depending on which you choose. In my opinion, instant transfers offer the best balance of low limits and snappy processing times.
I was pleasantly surprised by what I found in terms of banking limits. So surprised, in fact, that I got in touch with customer support to double-check! The team at Betfair confirmed that the minimum withdrawal, for the right payment methods, is just £0.01!
The minimum deposit is just £5 for most methods, which is also lower than average, and there are no fees.
Instant transfer payments are processed immediately, eWallets take up to 4 hours, and debit cards take up to 5 days.
Congratulations to Betfair for offering some of the very best banking terms this player has come across!
Betfair is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 39435.
Along with the UK, Betfair also holds licences in Sweden and Malta.
Having licences from these three authorities means that Betfair's reach is vast. Not to mention that the UKGC, Spelinspektionen and MGA are considered some of the strictest regulators in the world – so your player rights are very well protected at Betfair.
Betfair scores 7.5/10 for Customer Support
Betfair’s ‘Help’ section has much in it but could be better. The search function doesn’t work brilliantly, which can make it a little tricky to find the answer to specific questions.
There are also quite a few separate pages, rather than having all relevant information in one place.
I contacted customer support via live chat to clarify a few details when putting this review together. I found them to be polite, helpful, and fairly responsive. Each time I got an answer to my query within a couple of minutes, and it didn’t take too long to get past the chatbot.
In addition to the live chat, you can speak to the customer support team on the phone or through social media. Betfairs X handle is @BetfairCS. I’d have liked an email option too, as not everybody uses X (Twitter).
Betfair is ideal for slots players who like to mix things up with the occasional poker hand or a few sports bets.
There are a few areas where Betfair could improve. The inclusion of the biggest progressive network jackpots and Microgaming titles would be one. Adding an email contact option would be another. Also, I hope that Betfair will return to its previous policy of offering a wide range of promotions, especially weekly reloads or a loyalty system.
Those quibbles aside, players who are new to Betfair are likely to appreciate the banking terms, which are pretty much as good as any you’ll come across. The no/low wagering policy is great too, as you can keep winnings from most bonuses.
Betfair keeps a well-stocked and regularly-updated library of slots, so there’s always something new to try. It’s safe to say that Betfair’s cover-all-bases approach has paid off!
