Snakes & Ladders Megadice Review
Dating back to Ancient India in the 2nd century, Snakes and Ladders originated as Moksha Patam and was brought into the UK in the 1890s.
The game features a board of numbers with ladders that help you climb and snakes that make you fall. Ultimately, the goal is to reach the end.
Snakes and Ladders is a simple board game but one filled with excitement and thrills. That's why it's no surprise as to why Pragmatic Play's Reel Kingdom decided to make an online slot of it.
Playing on 5-reels with 10 paylines, this gaming slot features a Snakes and Ladders game board that is perfect for fans of the series.
Design
The slot opens up with an 8-bit visual style with the reels looking quite pixelated. If this wasn't a retro-inspired slot, then this would definitely look tacky but it actually fits in well with what the developers are trying to do.
There's even an animated 8-bit sky that moves and rustling 8-bit bushes that shows huge attention to detail. Obviously, there are snakes and ladders at either side of the reels that stand out for the right reasons.
During the bonus game, the slot changes to a board game with a grid of 12x12 with 144 squares and looks like you'd image the game to look. The added bonus of the Reel Kingdom gorilla on the board is brilliant.
In the game, you can expect jungle music with drums and woodwind instruments creating something that fits the slot really well.
Gameplay
The core gameplay of Snakes and Ladders Megadice is pretty straightforward and standard without anything too complicated. However, the bonus game is the best part and recreates the beloved game of Snakes and Ladders.
All the relevant buttons can be found at the bottom of the screen with the spin button at the bottom right with the Reel King gorilla in it. To either side of the spin button, you'll find the bet level.
Win Potential
First and foremost, the RTP of this slot is pretty good with 96.68% which is way over the average standard of 96%. Alongside that, you have high volatility level leading to larger wins but less frequently.
The maximum win isn't anything too special at 5,300x your stake - but it's a decent amount that players should be happy with. These can be achieved through the bonus game.
Our Verdict
On the surface, Snakes and Ladders Megadice looks like a cheaply made slot with nothing going for it. However, once you realise the brand of the game and the gameplay, it's actually brilliant.
As mentioned, the core gameplay is quite standard but the bonus game transforms the slot into a board game. Fans of the game or innovative slots, in general, should definitely check out Snakes and Ladders Megadice.
