Starting in the base game, you have 10 regular symbols, comprising the usual numbers and letters, as well as a shovel, pair of boots, treasure map, satchel and light. Over the years, I've come to expect a lot from the folks at Nolimit City when it comes to design, and Fire in the Hole 2 does not disappoint. Although barely distinguishable from the original in terms of visuals, Fire in the Hole 2 still serves up some gritty imagery and a menacing atmosphere.
The symbols are beautifully illustrated, and I love that you get a glimpse of the dark abandoned mine in the background in between spins.
The game board is backed by a lit-up tunnel glistening with precious jewels, and the reels sit in what looks to be an old lift shaft. Everything is brought together with a slightly ominous yet fun soundtrack. The folks at No Limitcity certainly know their stuff when it comes to putting together a fun, quirky and vibrant slot game.
With so many special features, symbols and the addition of the Collapsing Mines function, gameplay in both the base game and free spins round is fast-paced and very entertaining.
