Jane Hunter and the Mask of Montezuma Review
If you're accustomed to Pragmatic Play's John Hunter and his various missions to uncover hidden treasure, then the lovely Jane will present a familiar story.
She finds herself in what is presumably a South American jungle with a pyramid in the background; we can safely assume that this is the destination of her next dig.
Can she uncover the goods for some lucky players? Here's what we discovered.
In true Pragmatic Play style, Jane Hunter and the Mask of Montezuma is high quality but doesn't go the extra mile. It feels like the design team might need a real challenge to put their skills to the test soon before the inventory grows a little lacklustre.
Apart from our minor dig at the slot producer's level of effort, there's nothing to really moan about with the background presenting a nice jungle setting and all of the other game elements produced to a high quality. It all looks good on mobile devices as well and the soundtrack is stereotypical pan pipes and energising drum beats.
The addition of the ‘pick a win’ bonus keeps the base game alive as you hope to see that special symbol land on the 5th reel—without it, it is somewhat of a long and arduous slog through the jungle. If you're lucky enough to reach the free spins bonus, then sit up and keep everything crossed as it could well produce some sparkling treasure.
High volatility seems to be the way to go these days, so it's no great surprise that this Pragmatic Play production follows suit. There's a maximum 5,000x win and the RTP sits neatly at just over 96% on the game we played. Be aware that this may change depending on where you play.
As we have found with many recent releases from this game developer, there's nothing to complain about as such, but at the same time, not much to get super excited about either. If you like this theme and would like to try something a little different, then take a look at Aztec Gold Mines and see if that tickles your fancy instead.
