The Dog House Megaways
The Dog House Megaways is an updated Megaways version of classic Pragmatic play slot The Dog House. This 6-reel, 117,649 ways to win slot features all of your favourite 4-legged friends from the original title, as well as much larger payouts, higher volatility and of course the world-renowned Megaways engine.
Design
The Dog House Megaways is an insanely cheerful game that will no doubt bring a smile to the face of any slot enthusiast. The reels are set upon a wooden dog house (the clue is in the name) in the garden of an idyllic white picket fenced suburban street.
Low-paying symbols are your bog-standard 10, J, Q, K, A whilst high-paying symbols are animated dogs, which are on brand and a lot more interesting to look at, here you'll find a dachshund, pug, poodle and a goofy looking rottweiler. The Dog House Megaways wild symbol is a dog house.
The music is a cheerful, perky song played on a loop that wouldn't sound out of place in a children's cartoon. Aside from the music, the dogs that are currently displayed on the reels will pant, yap and bark repeatedly, and yes it truly is as annoying as it sounds.
All in all, The Dog House Megaways looks and sounds fantastic, but if you're playing for a prolonged period of time you're 100% going to want to hit the mute button at some point (hint, it's in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen).
Gameplay
In terms of layout, this game is designed like almost all of Pragmatic Play slots are, with the spin button acting as a major design element down in the right-hand corner of the screen, made to look like Pragmatic's logo with a crown. Players can change their bet limits to anywhere between 0.20 and 20.
The hamburger menu on the far left-hand side of the screen allows players the opportunity to access the system settings where they can also change their total bet limit, see their game history, and change the sound settings. An info button next to that brings up details about the paytable and bonus features.
Win Potential
We feel slightly conflicted when it comes to The Dog House Megaways, one one hand it has a pretty decent maximum win potential of 12,305x the players stake, however, it only has an RTP of 95.55% and it's certainly not the most generous of Megaways slots, as there are plenty of other games that have payouts in excess of 50,000x.
That said, this highly volatile Pragmatic Play slot has more than enough to offer players looking for a good Megaways game with decent payouts, so don't discount it unless you're feeling particularly greedy.
Our Verdict
We really enjoyed The Dog House Megaways, it's a cheerful, feel-good slot that absolutely improves on the original, much in the same way that Gonzo's Quest Megaways improved on Gonzo's Quest. Unfortunately, there are no cascading symbols like you see in other Megaways slots, however, the game's other features such as various wilds and multipliers make up for this.
