Astro Anna Review
Space is a rare area that has yet to be fully explored. That was until Astro Anna set off to find out the mysteries of the world and see if there is alien life out there.
Embark on this space adventure with Lady Luck Games' Astro Anna. Unlike most other slots, this game plays on a grid of 5x5 with wins being made up by pipes being connected.
There is nothing ordinary about this slot making it perfect for seasoned fans of slots. This mechanic is similar to the fan-favourite Mr. Alchemister, so be sure to keep on reading if that's a slot you love.
Design
When the journey begins, players will find a spaceship moving throughout Space with different planets and stars in the distance. Sadly, the controls of the aircraft are quite bland and dark which is a strange twist.
Astro Anna stands next to the reels looking like a character from The Jetsons with the 1960s design. She is animated and comes to life at times which is a cool attention to detail.
Unfortunately, the design of the pipes and the spaceship do seem a little strange compared to Anna and the space theme. It does feel a little disconnected at times.
Despite this, the music is absolutely fantastic. Throughout spins, there is a science fiction score playing with a techno beat paired with synth sounds that really rounds off the slot.
Gameplay
With the pipe mechanic, this slot definitely feels refreshing. Despite seeing this mechanic before with Mr. Alchemister, the feature still feels fresh and exciting. On top of this, there are still free spins, multipliers and a gamble feature to keep the slot simple.
All the buttons you need in this slot are the spin button and the bet level button. At the bottom of the screen, you'll be able to find the sound settings and paytable buttons.
Win Potential
Unfortunately, the win potential statistics are not what you'd expect with Lady Luck Games. However, it's worth bearing in mind that this is not a typical slot therefore we must look at the statistics from a different perspective.
The RTP is under the average at 94.10% which is not the RTP we'd like to see. This is accompanied by medium to high volatility levels and a maximum win of 2,500x the stake.
Whilst this is not a huge amount by typical slot standards, throughout the gameplay it does feel like a huge amount that has value. During our gameplay, we only managed to win up to 500x the stake and this felt massive.
Our Verdict
When opening up Astro Anna, we had no idea what to expect. Thankfully, we were pleasantly surprised with the outcome and the fact that this slot is not your typical game.
Whilst we do wish the pipe feature felt a bit more cohesive visually with the slot, the gameplay was thrilling and felt enriching at times. Overall, our experience was fantastic and we couldn't wait to go back.
