Max Megaways Review
It is never easy for a slot sequel to come out from the shadow of a successful predecessor and Max Megaways 2 was always going to have to punch hard to get people to notice this as a serious contender.
The theme is very different in the sense that this version takes place on the moon rather than a paradise island, but the feature and modifier setup are almost identical. The approach here is definitely ‘if it ain't broke, don't fix it!’.
Design
Up there on the lunar surface is our favourite slot special agent, Max, and he obviously has a mission to satisfy our bankrolls. You begin outside the futuristic building with Wild symbols offering animated zaps wherever possible and triggering the bonus round takes you inside this presumably criminal lair to hunt for the big wins.
You can't knock the theme tune as it is as close to the Bond original as you could legally get without copyright infringement and Big Time Gaming has also done a fantastic job of presenting this slot on mobile devices as well. You won't miss out on any of the finer details while out and about.
Game Play
Megaways games are blessed with a fantastic math model that keeps you eagerly awaiting every single spin and this is part of their appeal. As winning symbols are removed, new ones drop down into place and this sequence continues until no further wins are created and you never know how many symbols might appear each time.
Winning sequences can continue for quite a while and with the other modifiers that appear during the base game, most players will be very happy sticking around in this area to experience all the standard action.
However, moving up into this space-age creation to thwart the bad guy in his attempt to destroy the world will bring about the biggest wins. Along with this comes the possibility of re-triggering free spins that can keep you there among the winning action for quite some time
Win Potential
Not only are the win ways huge in this game, but the maximum win potential is also enormous. 147,620x is the max payout advertised with this title and the volatility is very high. Expect a decent 96.64% RTP and remember to keep an eye on your bankroll as you try to complete your mission.
Our Verdict
Max Megaways 2 is pretty much a carbon copy of its predecessor but we really don't mind! A popular character like Max could travel anywhere in the world to create yet another addition to this slot series and even if the modifiers and bonuses are very similar, it still feels like there's something new to explore. Keep them coming BTG and we will happily play them!
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
