Triple Stop Mermaids Find Review
Known for their beauty, mermaids are legendary across the world and are often featured in many pirate fables. Playtech's own idea of mermaids includes unparalleled beauty and a wealth of riches.
Both of which can be found in Triple Stop Mermaids Find. Whilst the name is quite a mouthful, the overall presentation of the slot is pretty decent with an intriguing base game and free spins round. If you love slots about mermaids, then this could be the one for you.
Design
With Playtech, the design is often hit-and-miss. In Triple Stop Mermaids Find, the design is certainly a miss. The background is a bland static image of the sea with a lighthouse in the distance.
As for the symbols on the reels, you'll find decent sea-related symbols such as skulls, mermaids and lighthouses. Ultimately, the symbols are not too bad and do animate from time to time, but the background of the slot is just awful.
During the base game, there is a distinct lack of audio. It can be a little jarring at first and it definitely feels like there should be something. Thankfully, the bonus round does have typical sea shanty music. Whilst this is good, we think it should have been included throughout the base game as well.
Gameplay
The overall gameplay of this slot is quite unconventional as there are 5-reels with not every reel contains the same amount of rows. The gameplay is similar to Shifting Seas and it definitely seems like Playtech were inspired by Thunderkick with this.
In terms of the quantity of gameplay, there are only two main features with the sticky wilds and the bonus round. It's easy to understand and can be quite entertaining - but we did hope to see a little more throughout. Perhaps a fixed jackpot bonus round or a respin mechanic.
Win Potential
Like most Playtech slots, this is the part where we start to get disappointed. The win potential for this slot is under the average with an RTP of 95.48% and a maximum win of 1,000x the stake.
Whilst we did not think the limit on the maximum win was bad during our playthrough, some high rollers will be disheartened by this limit and may be put off. However, this slot does have a medium volatility level so it is not intended for high-rolling players.
Instead, the gameplay leans more towards casual players looking for a mixture of high and low-volatility wins. Ultimately, this does make the lower maximum win less frustrating but it's still not good enough for us.
Our Verdict
Triple Stop Mermaid Find is a decent enough slot that will definitely appeal to classic players looking for something easy to play with no real demand. We found the bonus found to be the most exciting part - especially when the wilds start sticking.
However, we do feel like something is missing from this slot and could've used more time in the oven. Could this have been an extra bonus round or better mathematics for a greater win potential? We're not sure, but the slot falls short of being great for that reason.
Despite the negatives, this slot does have some redeeming qualities such as the interesting layout during the base game and the bonus round. For that reason, we can recommend giving this slot a spin but do not expect it to become your new favourite game.
