WTF? Even more ‘out there’ games to play
Once upon a time, slots were all about fruit, bells and lucky 7s, but many modern developers are keen to really push the medium and create unique games for more adventurous players.
At the avant-garde forefront of this movement are what we like to call ‘WTF slots’. These are often wild, absurd, rude, chaotic and unpredictable, but great fun. This isn’t the first time we’ve picked our favourite left field slots and it won’t be the last.
These weird, wacky and wonderful games all deserve players’ attention.
Eldritch Dungeon
Eldritch Dungeon by Print Studios is a wild, volatile ride aimed at fantasy genre fans. It’s not for the fainthearted, but players willing to brave these dungeons can be rewarded with wins of up to 20,000x their stake. You’ll want to properly absorb the rules and maybe play a few demo rounds before embarking on your Eldritch Dungeon quest, but you won’t regret it. The gameplay is genuinely immersive, and Eldritch Dungeon feels like a real adventure.
The production design is second to none. Premium animations and an epic soundscape contribute to the game’s distinct tone. Eldritch Dungeon is a prime example of developers borrowing from console and PC video games, so many elements will seem familiar to RPG fans.
Last but not least, the bonus round is incredible, with various levels, boss battles, and, of course, big potential wins.

Slurpy
ELK Studios isn’t afraid of a bit of weirdness, and Slurpy is a prime example of this. It’s a high-volatility game with a retro aesthetic that’s not easy to categorise. The max win isn’t bad, but the real highlights of the game are the two bonus rounds and the quirky, unique mechanics of the base game.
This is a quite unconventional slot in the sense that it’s not about lining up symbols; it’s about slurping them. This involves matching the 6 characters to the symbols at the top of a 5x5 grid. Achieving this will cause the grid to expand to 6x6, and then to 7x7. Bonus features unlock additional characters and a Super Straw, and can result in various different win multipliers.
Players on the hunt for something truly original need look no further!

San Quentin 2: Death Row
Another WTF slots veteran is Nolimit City, and their latest offering in this category is a follow-up to 2021’s San Quentin xWays. There’s no doubt that San Quentin 2: Death Row is a worthy successor, and to say that the graphics had been given an upgrade would be a criminal understatement. But the real essence of both games, based on life in the infamous Californian prison, is the intricacy and variety of the gameplay.
San Quentin 2: Death Row requires a little patience from the player to begin with. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll be treated to a rich experience with multiple bonus features and some novel in-game mechanics. There’s an absolutely massive 200,000x top prize, and 1,024 ways to win in the base game. This increases as ‘Enhancer Cells’ are unlocked and as the grid expands from 5x4. This is a beefy game with a lot going on under the hood, and it’s well worth a shot.

Freaked Out Fish
Don’t make the mistake of assuming that this is just another fishing game! As the name suggests, Freaked Out Fish is a wacky one. This Relax Gaming title is a psychedelic underwater adventure that offers prizes worth up to 30,000x the stake. It’s the cluster mechanic that firmly qualifies it as a WTF slot.
A huge amount of work has gone into the design. The psychedelia gives the game a distinct tone, supplemented by an enjoyable psychedelic rock soundtrack. The zany, shroom-fuelled bonus round can produce some generous wins. Other features include free spins, ‘Freaky Fish Zones’ which grants rising multipliers, and the ‘Mega Whale’ which swims up onto the game grid to select a 3x3 cluster area. The RTP is a healthy 96.02 and the volatility is a balanced medium-high. Freaked Out Fish is an absolute trip!

Bling Kong
Crash games are all the rage at the moment, and rage is something that the titular character of Light & Wonder’s new Bling Kong knows something about! Just in case you’re unfamiliar with the format, crash games emulate stocks/crypto trading, challenging players to cash out at the most opportune moment, before the game ‘crashes’. This one tracks everyone’s favourite big-hearted, havoc-wreaking gorilla as he scales a skyscraper.
The design is retro and neon-tinged, reminiscent of ‘80s arcade games, yet manages to feel really polished at the same time. This is a sequel to StacKing Kong, which put a fresh spin on the crash game mechanic. By buying blocks, which increase in price as the game progresses, the player helps Kong to ascend the building and potentially reach a 10,000x payout.
