Let’s start by taking a quick trip down memory lane… How did you come up with the Cash Eruption idea and who decided that the game needed to be extra generous and offer free spins as well?!

The idea for Cash Eruption originated from our goal to build a game that could capture players’ attention from the first spin. We wanted an experience that layered excitement with a steady build-up of rewards, which led to incorporating features like the Lock & Win bonus.

Creating a new Free Spins Bonus round to differentiate from previous iterations and create what we hope to be the best version of Cash Eruption so far. As of today, there’s only one reskin of the original Cash Eruption, all the other releases are unique and we believe this helps keeps the brand fresh, interesting and the ability to capture a wide range of player.

Is it a simple process to move an existing game online? When it’s been housed in a cabinet for several years, I imagine there are certain design considerations! 

I wish it was simple! There are certainly some game design tweaks that are required but the incredible performance makes it all worth it. Cash Eruption arrived from the VLT/Multi Game Casino pipeline, and these definitely come with fewer design challenges than a game like Prosperity Link that was on a big cabinet. You have to make some sacrifices, but we’re getting much more efficient at converting games and working closely with the land teams.

Moving onto the matter at hand – Cash Eruption Hoggin Cash. I’ve reviewed lots of ‘rich pig’ themed games over the years and the best of them integrate the characters into the gameplay and features rather than just providing a backdrop. How does Hoggin Cash approach this?

We aimed to make the pig character in Hoggin Cash an active part of the player experience, not just a theme. From visual cues to animations, our central character is loaded with personality. Not only is he a snappy dresser, but he has a piggy bank counterpart that’s integrated throughout the game, interacting with the bonus features and bringing the Cash Eruption world to life.

So rather than just a cute pig image, Hoggin Cash brings the whole hog to life (pardon the pun). The piggy bank grows and swells as players collect coins, which builds anticipation as you’re waiting for the inevitable explosion.

Apart from the obvious visual characteristics, what would you say are the main differences between Hoggin Cash and the other titles in this series?

Having the growing pig feature in the base as a retention tool as a second way for the player to get into the Cash Eruption Bonus is new, and we know how strong that visual is for players. The new Free Spins Bonus is, for me, the best one so far. It’s volatile and has bigger win potential than previous iterations so rather than the Free Spins simply being a nice Bonus, it’s now a Bonus that players look out for particularly to trigger the Super Bonus. We’re convinced this will be a key driver for improved retention and player enjoyment!

I’ve heard a rumour that there are collection missions to watch out for in this latest release. It sounds exciting! Could you share a little more info or is it a top-secret mission?!

So as mentioned above, the player has the Super Bonus try for 10 Free Spins that can generate massive win potential. But there’s also the ability to land the Cash Eruption Bonus and Free Spins on one spin for a “unicorn” double bonus. This is in addition to the piggy bank entry and a special pig animation to get you into the Free Spins.

Could you tell us more about the Super Scatters and extra free spins bonus? What will players get from this elevated bonus action?

The game has two free spins bonus rounds, and one of them is a supercharged version. There are the regular briefcase Scatters and then there’s a special Scatter which is responsible for triggering an enhanced free games round with more spins and bigger wins. There’s also the ability to generate 50 extra spins if you continually land a Diamond symbol on your last spin. This will be a nice surprise for the players.

It’s great to see that the Grand Jackpot isn’t going anywhere! How big can this prize grow in Hoggin Cash and can you give us an idea of the max multiplier available?

The game comes with four static jackpots, but the Grand Jackpot is unlocked during the Cash eruption bonus round. The set up is closer to what you see in Cash Eruption Vegas, rather than the original Cash Eruption, so there’s no jackpot accrual. That said, the 5,000x maximum multiplier adds an impressive layer to the jackpot’s appeal, giving players something truly big to aim for with each spin.

Finally… where does Cash Eruption go from here? Are there plans already in the pipeline for an 8th instalment?

Happy to reveal a bit here. In 2025 we’ll see some different themes over existing Cash Eruption math models, a jackpot game and a brand-new sequel to the original which we’re really excited about. We may also see the brand used in some non-slot content. We won’t be letting up!
