The game uses a 6x4 grid plus an extra lateral reel which sits above reels 2 to 4 and winning combinations consist of landing matching symbols on adjacent reels. They pay out from left to right, starting from the first reel. Bear in mind that every time you land a winning combination, those symbols will explode, allowing room for more symbols to drop down. This means you get chances to hit more wins on the same spin. These explosions continue until there are no more wins.
The neon Viking letters/symbols are the low pays, with a 6-of-a-kind being worth up to 0.9x the bet. The animals with neon eyes and who I assume is Odin himself are the more valuable symbols. Land a 6-of-a-kind and you’ll pocket a maximum of 5x.
Wilds only appear on the top reel. They substitute for all the above pay symbols and also serve as collect symbols for the Prize and Jackpot symbols which may appear on the reels below. The Prize symbols carry multiplier values of between 1x and 9x. The Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots carry bet multiplier values of 10x, 50x, 250x and 2,000x respectively. And you can trigger them more than once.
You’ll only see scatters on the main reels if 1 falls on the top reel. If you land at least 4 scatters, you’ll trigger the Lightning Blitz Free Spins round. A total of 4 scatters awards 2 free spins, 5 scatters award 3, 6 award 5, and 7 scatters award 7 free spins.
During the round, the top reel only contains Wild and blank symbols, whereas the main reels only contain Prize symbols (including jackpots) and blank symbols. The exploding symbols feature is still in play, so as long as you hit a win, further symbols will fall. Play continues until you’ve run out of spins and there are no more wins on the grid.
I didn’t have to spin for too long before I managed to trigger the free spins round. The round was over pretty quickly, mind: 4 scatters only awards 2 free spins. That said, the cascade function is still active, so you can hit quite a few wins on 1 spin, and I ended up with a pretty decent total return.

The RTP is 96.1% and the mathematical model is supposed to be between medium and high. I felt it played more in keeping with a medium volatility game, as I hit wins with fair regularity and the free spins round wasn’t too difficult to trigger. Although I came away with a decent haul, the free spins round was over pretty quickly, and it’s not possible to retrigger it.
I managed to hit some half-decent wins in the base game, though nothing to write home about. It would’ve been nice if the Wilds fell more frequently, as those are what you need if you want to benefit from the Prize and Jackpot symbols.
The setting appears to be a verdant mountain range with waterfalls and grand stone structures in the background. It’s all a little hard to make out because there’s a lot of mist and the sun is setting. All in all, it looks great, though. The neon lighting of the symbols gives the visuals a lot of depth. In fact, the game looks almost 3-D. The epic, drum-led choir orchestra is really impressive, too. It gives Nolan films a run for their money.
Everything on screen is easy to make out and you can clearly see what and why you’re winning. Overall, the game looks and sounds great on pretty much any device you choose to play it on.
