Some people don't like change and for them, this is going to be a bitter pill to swallow. If you were in love with watching these birds move around the grid with every spin, prepare to be pulled out of your comfort zone. It's a little bit different and whilst some won’t like it, others will find it a refreshing revision.
It looks like things have taken a slightly strange turn for these birds. Our cute feathered friends no longer scoot around the grid picking up gems – well not all the time anyway. You start on a 5x5 grid, which can expand, but more on that in a moment.
Wins are formed when a minimum of five matching symbols join in a cluster and this is either horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols disappear and are replaced by new ones.
Some symbols are larger than others and can appear as 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4. They are all broken down into their individual symbols when wins are calculated.
Your birds begin at the top of the screen and if a nest lands on the grid, they fly down and can then behave in a way in which we are more accustomed. They move along the grid and collect any gems that are of the same colour and at the same time, each gem adds to a global multiplier at the top.
Bombs can be released and as you might expect, they explode! This action brings new symbols down onto the grid and can also expand the game area to 7x7.
Feature Chests can arrive and when opened, you'll see wilds, bombs, nests and bonus symbols as well.
Wild symbols substitute for other regular payers and can also contain multiplier figures. Sometimes these wild symbols will merge and sometimes they'll connect to multiple clusters.
Triggering the bonus game will require three bonus symbols landing on the grid and you'll get five free spins. During the standard bonus game, there is a persistent multiplier and each time a bird collects a gem, it adds to this figure. You can pick up extra free spins as well.
If you get a super bonus symbol when you trigger the game, you'll see a more advanced version played on a 7x7 grid and each free spin will guarantee that a chest produces nests, bombs and wilds.
I had a couple of stints in the bonus area and my first attempt produced over 400x and the second got me just over 200x. Not a bad day at the office!
The x-iter option is available outside the UK and five choices are present.
Throughout the game, special features may trigger and these can be wilds, nests, bombs and bonus symbols. Wilds can add multipliers, nests bring the birds down to collect gems, bombs remove symbols and bonus symbols can trigger the free spins games.

If one of your bonus symbols is super, you’ll get an advanced version of the bonus game. On top, you get a guaranteed chest with each spin that can add wild multipliers all over the grid or add nests for the birds to come and collect gems and increase the global multiplier.
There is decent win potential in the base game thanks to the Feature Chests and those birds adding to the global multiplier. I regularly saw wins of over 10x helping to pick my balance back up. However, you can't deny how much more potential there is in the bonus game.
The super bonus will provide far more attractive results thanks to the Feature Chests with every spin. The RTP is 94% and the volatility is high.
We're back in a more familiar setting compared to the Wild West backdrop of Pirots 3. It's kind of nice to get back out on the ocean waves but I miss the gun-slinging birds and that cute little train!
The game plays smoothly and flawlessly on a range of devices, including mobile phones and everything is set out clearly so nobody will be lost. If you haven't played any of these games before, you might want to start at the original Pirots game just to get a feel for what's going on and then make your way through the series.
It's a slightly different take on a popular mechanic that features in other Pirots games and many of you are going to simply love it.
