Neon Pyramid Review
The 80s have definitely made a comeback and the style choices that were once seen as tacky are now cool. Inspired Gaming’s Neon Pyramid follows this trend as the retro themed slot almost seems futuristic and modern.
It’s filled to the brim with references to vintage 80s paraphernalia such as synthesisers, boom boxes and sports cars just to name a few. Of course, that’s not all it has going for it as playing can win up to 10,000x their stake with up to 4,096 ways to win.
Design
Set to a Tron-inspired background with phosphorescent colours and geometric shapes, Neon Pyramid feels incredibly retro whilst being futuristic at the same time. It does seem to be intended to appeal to those interested in this theme.
The symbols on the reels look like individual neon signs and have quintessential 80s inspired designs from sunglasses to boomboxes.
As you can imagine, the music is also inspired by the 80s. Even before you spin, you’ll hear a steady beat of synth sounds mixed with a keyboard beat. As you win more or spin, the track changes and gets more intense. It sounds fantastic and will make retro fans happy.
Overall, the design is a huge improvement from other Inspired Gaming slots and shows promise of what they do with slots design wise.
Gameplay
Don’t expect this slot to completely shake up the genre or even slots in general, as it’s very generic. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s nothing innovative. The best thing has to be the pyramid which adds so much more to the slot.
Menus can be found to the right of the reels with the spin button as well. Just like in most Inspired Gaming slots, you can activate the autospin button by holding down the space button.
Win Potential
Neon Pyramid is a high volatility slot with a respectable RTP at 95.85%. The maximum base win includes rolling 6 unicorns to trigger a win of 10x your stake. As you climb the pyramid and gain more multipliers, you can win even more.
The maximum win overall is 10,000x your stake, which can be obtained by filling the reel with wilds and reaching the top level of the pyramid.
Our Verdict
For those of you who love nostalgia and 80s themed stuff like Stranger Things, then you’ll love this slot. It’s a complete throwback to the 80s with retro references and music. Whilst it won’t completely change everything and reinvent slots, it’s a fun enough game that many will enjoy.
The maximum win and the pyramid help to attract even more players to the slot. If this sounds at all like something you’d enjoy, check out Neon Pyramid. Make sure to check out our other retro slots such as Electric Avenue or Hotline.
