Bolt X UP Review
The X UP mechanic is an original feature from Alchemy Gaming (through the Microgaming platform) and only features in a handful of slots including Africa X UP and Chronicles of Olympus X.
That was until Bolt X UP adopted the mechanic and sets a unique theme of electricity. Like the other slots, this game plays on 5-reels with 243 ways to win and features both free spins and the X UP feature.
There's nothing overly special about the design of this slot as the background is a static image with electrical vaults running through. On the reels, there are traditional fruit machine symbols as well as electrical inspired ones such as wires and lights.
The audio for this slot isn't anything too special as there are just electrical noises and a soft score going in the background. It's surprising that there isn't a techno score or even animated images throughout which is a little disappointing.
If you've played any of the other 'X UP' games, then you've easily played this one as the gameplay is simple and only features the free spins round.
The right side of the screen contains the spin button and bet level, whilst the bottom of the screen contains other settings and the Bonus Buy feature for non-UK players.
For a standard slot, Bolt X UP has a great win potential with the RTP of 96.22% and the maximum win of 10,935x your stake. However, when compared to other X UP games, the win potential is low and not as exciting.
Despite this, big wins can be achieved in this game and there is a medium volatility level providing a mixture of high and low volatility wins.
Bolt X UP is electrifying at times with the free spins round and the gameplay but fails to excite with the design. However, this slot isn't designed to be something spectacular but something that entertains which it successfully does.
In our opinion, the previous X UP games are far superior, but that doesn't mean Bolt X UP is bad. This is definitely worth checking out if players want a medium volatility slot in the X UP series.
