The game takes place on a 5x4 grid with wins coming in the form of matching symbols landed on adjacent reels, starting from the first reel. The low-pay symbols are the different coloured symbols etched into rocks. A 5-of-a-kind can be worth up to 0.8x the stake. The horn, pig, cup and helmet are the high pays. Land a 5-of-a-kind and you can win up to 5x. The standard Wild only substitutes for these pay symbols. As a pay symbol itself, it’s worth the same as the most valuable high pay.
If you land 2 or more Loki symbols, they’ll stick in place and you’ll be awarded a respin. If you land any more Lokis on a respin, you’ll be awarded another respin. If a Thoro symbol lands when a Loki symbol is in view, or vice versa, this triggers Thoro Thunder Strike. The Thoro is a walking sticky wild, and he’ll charge toward Loki symbols, replacing them with wilds and leaving wilds in his wake. The Loki and Thoro symbols seem to fall regularly, so you should see plenty of chances to benefit from the Thoro Thunder Strikes function. Another advantage the base game has is the fact you can potentially hit the max win on any spin. You just need 12 scatters. The Mjolnir function takes the win potential to a different level, but it is incredibly hard to land in conjunction with a Thoro.
I was lucky enough to trigger the free spins round within a few spins. Unfortunately, I was left feeling a little disappointed by my haul. The game has medium/high volatility and a rather low 94% RTP.
The action takes place in what I assume is the mythical world of Asgard. Behind the 5x4 grid, there’s a small town floating in the sky. I've been racking my brain for a while now and I'm still not 100% sure what to expect with this slot!
Could it be a play on 'Thor', one of our favourite Norse gods and star of many a slot? Or perhaps the American English form of 'thorough'? I checked Google and that threw up some interesting results. We could be looking at a bicycle, some shoes, fast-setting cement or even a handy stain remover. Who knows?!
My money's on Norse mythology...
We might not have any concrete Thoro facts at this stage but one thing's always guaranteed with ELK Studios - loads of awesome features and an interesting base game. Just look back at a few of the latest slots to come from ELK and it's not hard to see why we're expecting good things.
I don't have a crystal ball I'm afraid but expect this game to be pretty generous in the max win department. Oxygen has a 25,000x top prize and Cygnus 4 has the potential to fire out a 50,000x win! There's no guarantee that Thoro will reach such dizzy heights, but I wouldn't expect it to be under 10,000x.
The Thor RTP should be pretty easy to gauge as all ELK slots of late have the same 94% stat. I wouldn't be anticipating anything different.
