Dragon Blox Gigablox Review
There are a handful of Gigablox slots out now since Yggdrasil has expanded the licence to other slot developers. One of the main developers that have started using this mechanic is Peter & Sons.
The slot developer has created a handful of Gigablox slots from Monster Blox to Water Blox. The next slot to get the Gigablox treatment is Dragon Blox Gigablox. As the name suggests, this slot takes players deep into a dragon's cave but with a unique Peter & Sons' twist.
Playing on 6-reels with 50 paylines, Dragon Blox Gigablox uses Gigablox, free spins, wilds and a Monster Jackpot Bonus leading to wins of up to 10,000x the stake. Face the dragon and see what you can uncover in Dragon Blox Gigablox.
Design
One thing you can count on with Peter & Sons is a visual masterpiece. There is nothing too crazy going on but there is enough to create a full world for players.
The slot is set in a cave full of gold with a dragon guarding it. That sounds simple enough but Peter & Sons have gold that glistens as well as a cute red dragon guarding the screen.
The dragon is animated and looks absolutely adorable. There are subtle details of the previous knights coming to get the treasure without the developer being too graphic. The overall visuals of this slot feel like an indie video game rather than an online slot - but that's what drew our eyes to the slot.
Throughout the slot, there is a grand score playing that sets the tone of the slot. It's an orchestra score that is nothing special but works well for Dragon Blox Gigablox.
Gameplay
In this slot, you'll find multiple bonus rounds as well as Gigablox symbols and wilds. With free spin symbols, you can trigger the free spins round. However, the biggest feature is easily the Monster Jackpot bonus round that starts when 6 or more lock'n blox symbols land.
This leads to a respin bonus round that starts with 3 spins that reset with every symbol. Despite having 'jackpot' in the name of the mechanic, there is no progressive jackpot in this slot. However, you can win up to 10,000x stake during the bonus round.
For those unfamiliar with Gigablox, you'll be pleased to know that it's easy to follow. All this mechanic does is add larger symbols between 2x2 to 6x6 which will help you trigger bonuses or gain bigger wins.
Win Potential
When we first heard of Dragon Blox Gigablox, we were unsure what to think. Firstly, the game mentions Monster Jackpot but there is no jackpot throughout the slot. In this game, you can win up to 10,000x the stake through the Monster Jackpot bonus round but that's it.
It's a decent amount that will certainly appear to high-rollers looking for big wins. Sadly, the RTP is just under the average standard of 95.9% which is frustratingly close to the average - therefore we can let this slip.
Our Verdict
This slot has all the makings of a great Peter & Sons' slot and we can imagine it doing well with players. Everything just works in this slot from the wonderful design to the amazing gameplay.
The only aspect that did disappoint us was the lack of a major jackpot despite one being named in the slot. It's quite misleading but not too offputting to stop you from playing this slot. Dragon Blox Gigablox is worth a spin if you love modern slots with refreshing mechanics, great wins to aspire to and a stunning design.
