You have a 5X5 game area and this repeats across the four sides of a cube. Not only are you picking up cluster wins on one face, but you could see them occur in four separate areas. Matching symbols must be touching horizontally or vertically and they can continue around the corner, so to speak.

The lowest paying symbols will only fetch you up to 4x for the max group and the highest paying symbols can only reach up to 5x. For the most part, you'll be looking at quite small returns. If all of these small combos come together during winning sequences, then you'll start to see your balance grow.
Wild symbols appear in three formats and the most basic will simply substitute for other regular symbols. Multiplier wilds can take part in wins and if this occurs, the multiplier figures are applied to the payout. Don't be put off by the tiny symbol returns as you should see lots of small clusters forming on the majority of spins. I witnessed the multiplier wild taking part quite a few times as well. We don't have any official word on the volatility or max win for this game but the regular payouts of a decent size suggest that this is a medium volatility production.
I'd be interested to know just how big the maximum win can grow as the bonus game starts to swell and offer an abundance of symbols. If you can land enough multipliers with large symbol combos, then quite a substantial reward could come your way. I imagine it’ll be a crazy figure that will probably feel unrealistic – just my personal experience with BTG slots!
Putting this 3D cube idea together may well have been a mathematical nightmare but BTG seems to have pulled it off. It's a clever system that adds to the entertainment as you feel like you're picking up wins in lots of different areas while you spin. The symbols are colourful and for some reason, everything sits above the clouds on top of a rocky plinth that we've seen before from this developer. Once again, the music and sound effects are barely worth mentioning – I'm not sure why BTG continues with this approach.
Crystal Towers is a great idea and it's well executed by this popular developer. There isn't much happening other than a few multiplier wilds and that's a shame as this crazy game area could have worked its way into some fancy features at the same time. It feels like a good starting point and I imagine we'll see Crystal Towers receive a sequel before long.
