Bones & Bounty Review
Thunderkick has managed to keep this game pretty basic but at the same time exciting enough thanks to the modifiers that land during the Cash Bonus Game. Apart from the Wild symbols landing during the base game, there is nothing to worry about here. The modifiers that help boost your wins in the Cash Bonus Game, however, are nothing short of incredible and can do amazing things for your balance.
Design
This pirate's galleon is heading into deadly waters that are lit up with an unholy glow and I wouldn't advise that anyone spend their holidays in this part of the world. The masts are battered and torn and there's a pirate doing his best to sail the ship to safety.
There are some nice animations as the Wild symbols arrive with the stacked ones being images of a pirate while the regular ones are quite disturbing monkeys.
Moving into the bonus game, the ship begins to move and finally arrives at its gold-filled cove where you hope to pick up some decent wins. The eerie music stays the same throughout the entire production and shouldn't offend your ears too much.
Game Play
The base game really is quite basic and even the stacked Wild symbols struggle to maintain the momentum as you wait for Bonus symbols to land. The Cash Bonus Game is where the biggest wins and the most amount of excitement will appear and some players outside the UK will be able to buy their way directly into this feature at a cost of 100x.
Win Potential
There is nothing wrong with the max 25,000x win but the high volatility won't be your friend until it decides to produce a big payout from time to time. Whether or not anyone will get close to this maximum figure remains to be seen. The RTP is 96.16% for the majority of the game but this can vary if you are buying your way into the bonus round.
Our Verdict
Thunderkick has produced some top games over the years, with Esqueleto Explosivo being one of my favourites. They are always good-looking and have the ability to produce lots of top wins; however, sometimes they're a little lacking in the feature department—Bones & Bounty feels like it's suffering in this area too. A few extra modifiers during the base game would have done this slot wonders but make no bones about it, it's still a decent game that is worth a few spins.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
