Tropicool 3’s main game area is 6x6. To win, you simply have to land matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. Also, winning combination symbols explode, allowing for more symbols to drop down and possibly more wins. These Avalanches continue until there are no more wins.
The low-pay coloured fruit symbols are all worth the same. You’ll pocket 0.25x for a 6-of-a-kind. The different animal emblems are the high pays - a 6-of-a-kind made up of 1 of these can be worth up to 5x the stake.
Above the main game area lies the Cool Reel. This consists of 3 rows of 2, 4 and 6 reels. On these reels, you’ll find special feature symbols - potentially 12 in total. Every time you hit a win, the symbols from the Cool Reel’s bottom row will drop down. If there’s no win, new symbols come in from the right, replacing the previous ones.
Feature symbols include the Mystery symbol, which reveals a pay symbol at the end of the drop. The Wild substitutes for all pay symbols - it’s also worth as much as the most valuable pay symbol. The Elmo symbol can drop at any time and if you succeed in getting it to the leftmost reel, all symbols in the Cool Reel will drop. If the Elmo symbol reaches the bottom of the grid but not the leftmost reel, it will redrop on the reel to the left.
Landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 Bonus symbols will trigger 6, 9, 12 and 15 free spins, respectively. Players can benefit from all the same feature symbols as in the base game but it’s worth noting that locked Wilds aren’t limited to just 3 wins - they stick to the grid until the round is over. The game’s Wild being as valuable as the most valuable pay symbol can serve as some compensation for the relatively low returns of the standard pay symbols. Getting feature symbols to drop from the Cool Reel is the best way to win some real money. That isn’t such a difficult task, as avalanches seem to trigger quite regularly, more often than you might expect. The RTP is 94% and there’s high volatility. The 25,000x max win is the same as the last instalment.
