Spinions Game Day Review
There is something kind of lovable about this quirky little slot. We've seen the Spinions before on their beach holidays and celebrating Christmas too (Spinions Beach Party and Spinions Christmas Party respectively). But we think they look best suited to the football pitch.
As the match begins, you'll notice several Spinion characters waiting patiently for the reels to spin; they’re on the balconies, in line at the burger van and at the side of the pitch.
To make things even more surreal, the soundtrack sounds more like you're strolling through a supermarket than waiting for an epic sports match to unfold—it’s weird but we kind of love it!
Design
As you would expect, Quickspin's Spinions Game Day has a cartoon atmosphere with lots of cute touches. It's very light-hearted and fun and even the symbols are pretty sweet.
Everything's been well thought out and the designers have clearly enjoyed making this title. There are lower-paying symbols represented by standard playing cards and they get more valuable as you move into the oversized hats, football boots and goalkeeper gloves.
The base game is very relaxed and subdued but that all changes as you make your way into the free spins round. The crowd starts cheering, the music goes wild and it no longer sounds like a 60s supermarket! We love the animated elements which really bring the game to life.
This is especially true with the Passing Wilds making their way around the game board knocking the ball about and creating multipliers. Land yourself one of the bigger wins and it gets even more hectic. You'll recognise the famous Spanish commentator celebrations as they scream ‘gol gol gol gol gol gol’ while the money adds up.
Gameplay
Spinions Game Day looks a lot more technically fancy than it really is. There are 25 basic paylines. And even though the reels drop in a kind of cascading fashion, they are essentially regular reels with normal mechanics.
The info section shows you how the features work as well as giving a rundown of the symbol values. There's nothing tricky about how it all comes together; just choose your bet total and hit the spin button.
Players outside the UK can use the auto spin feature as well as the bonus buy-in option as well. It's a pretty standard operation with a cutesy edge that makes it much more fun than many other regular slots of this type.
Win Potential
You'll enjoy medium volatility while playing this game. What you get are regular wins of a regular value and the big wins are reserved for the special feature round. The RTP can change depending on where you play.
For the most part, it will be 96.07%. The base game presents a much smaller RTP at just 65.3%. So you really do need to see those bonus symbols land or buy into the free spins around to see some big returns.
The biggest payout is 3,717x stake thanks to the sticky wilds with multipliers. And depending on your stake, this could get pretty mouth-watering. Bets range from 0.10 to 100 so there’s a decent scope for both budget spinners and high rollers to enjoy the action.
Our Verdict
Spinions Game Day is a blast and the slot design is sure to leave a smile on your face. It isn't difficult to figure everything out and we love the changing pace between the base game and free spins round.
Plus, the medium volatility keeps things interesting for everybody as wins will come around regularly to boost your balance. We spent far too long playing this game and had to drag ourselves away from it eventually!
