Spinions Beach Party Review
After the release of Despicable Me in 2010, many within the world of entertainment were trying to capitalise on the success of the tiny little creatures. Quickspin decided to release their own little minion slot with Spinions Beach Party.
This slot is absolutely filled with fun as the Spinions head to the beach for one heck of a beach party. Players will find good times followed by respins, sticky wilds and free spins leading to wonderful wins. If you are looking for a new group of annoying creatures to get behind, then look no further than Spinions Beach Party.
Design
For a game that was released in 2016, Spinions Beach Party (also just known as Spinions) looks incredible. The slot is set on a golden beach surrounded by a clear blue ocean and sky. There are palm trees blowing in the wind as well as the ocean crashing onto the water.
The stars of the slot are easily the Spinion creatures which are orange little blobs with arms. Each of them has unique eye expressions to make them all stand out. It's evidently clear that the developers were inspired by Minions from Depictable Me. Throughout the base, these characters bob and dance to add a little bit of life to the slot.
In terms of the audio, there is a funky beat throughout that sounds a little similar to 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge but feels like a knock-off version with the audio. It does however fit into the slot and is accompanied by the Spinions cheering during wins.
Gameplay
There's not a huge amount going on throughout the slot, but that's not to say that it isn't bad. During the base game, respins can be triggered through wilds leading to exciting moments. Similarly, the sticky wilds are respins appear in the free spins round as well.
At the bottom of the screen, there is a spin button followed by other relevant buttons. Almost all Quickspin slots have a bright orange bar to represent the menu making it very easy to find.
Win Potential
Spinions Beach Party is a medium volatility slot that offers a decent RTP but slacks off with the payout. The RTP is just above average at 96.05% but this is followed by a maximum win of 1,876x the stake.
Whilst this is high for Quickspin in 2016, players would absolutely scoff at this amount now. It's way under the average acceptable amount of 5,000x to 10,000x the stake.
Our Verdict
The concept of this slot is utterly charming and it's hard not to love the Spinions. Whilst some may see these characters as annoying, it's hard not to laugh at some of the stupid moments from the slot.
Of course, we'd love to see more enticing gameplay potentially with multipliers leading to a bigger win, but the game is entertaining enough without this. If you want to make a new orange friend, then look no further than Spinions Beach Party.
