Quartz SiO2 Review
It's often theorised that the most precious gems and rarest ones are found in the darkest places and usually hidden within black stones. This is the exact premise of Lady Luck Games' Quartz SiO2 as you play on a slot surrounded by black stones but these open up delivering solid wins to players.
Whilst the gameplay may seem straightforward, this WTF slot contains expanding wilds, respins and a gamble feature to double up your winnings. If you love original games such as Stunning Cube, then Quartz SiO2 is one to check out.
Design
Despite having a simplistic style, there's a whole lot to unpack with the design of this slot. In the distance, you'll find yourself in a cave filled with black rocks but there are slight sparkles near them highlighting something more.
The actual symbols on the reels showcase cracking rocks and stone playing suit symbols that fit in well with what Lady Luck Games is going for. There also seems to be a science-fiction element to this slot with a pulse going through the symbols once you land a winning payline.
Similarly, the music is quite relaxing and comforting with keyboard noises mixed with synth sounds to create something calming but this does grow with spins building up suspense. Quartz SiO2 is a perfect example of keeping something minimalistic and fine-tuning the finer details.
Gameplay
It may seem a little complicated at first glance, but this slot couldn't be further from that. There are 5-reels with 10 paylines and it's clear to see where the paylines are and how they work. All the features are straightforward and self-explanatory once you trigger them.
Like most Lady Luck slots, you'll find the spin button at the bottom right along with the bet level and further information to the left side in case you need it.
Win Potential
Whilst the RTP may seem lower than average at 95.9%, we didn't experience any issues with the slot in our 400 spins and found it quite generous. Similarly, with the maximum payout, we gained a decent amount throughout our playthrough and were thoroughly satisfied by the end of it.
The maximum win is apparently 250x your stake which is low for an online slot but this may only be a problem for high rollers as it can be rewarding enough for casual players. It should be noted that the volatility is medium to high meaning that you should expect higher wins but at a less frequent rate.
Our Verdict
You'll be pleasantly surprised with Quartz SiO2 as it's refreshing to play and so mesmerising once you spin the reels to see rocks open up with wins. The overall design is fantastic and shows that sometimes the best course is something uncomplicated but the finer details are perfected.
Alongside the great design, the overall features and gameplay are engaging enough to keep casual players entertained and is the ideal starting point for newcomers to online slots. Now, the only downside is the low maximum payout, but we didn't find this a major problem whilst we were playing but it may put off high rollers.
Ultimately, we are happy to recommend this slot as it's a delight to play and is sure to keep you entertained.
