Pug Life Review
It's often said that a dog is man's best friend but we're certain that won't be the case after Pug Life. In this Hacksaw Gaming slot, players follow Pugly and his crew of animals as they wreak havoc throughout the house when the humans are away.
This mischievous slot takes a lighthearted approach to online slots with a cutesy animal theme with a tongue-in-cheek tone. Playing on 5-reels with 16 paylines, this slot contains two bonus rounds, multipliers and all the things that you'll need for a thrilling experience.
Design
For the design, it seems that the developers have taken inspiration from other popular animal slots such as The Dog House with the goofy designs of the animals. Most of them are cute but have a crazy quality to them.
Throughout the slot, there are cats, dogs, pigeons and rats acting as the pets. The slot takes place in a grand-looking house with elegant decor and pictures of the animals around the house.
During the game, there are random moments where the animals will appear and do something crazy. It's fun to watch and definitely adds to the charm. As for the music, it's a jaunty upbeat tune that perfectly reflects the slot.
Gameplay
Pug Life falls in the typical format of most other Hacksaw Gaming slots with two bonus rounds and multipliers. That's not to say it's a bad formula, but it's nothing refreshing or new to players.
Ideally, we'd prefer the developers to try to do something different or add in another bonus round. However, the gameplay is still exciting enough to deliver a solid experience.
In order to get started with this slot, you'll find the spin button at the bottom right of the screen with the bet level underneath. Non-UK players will be happy to find the bonus buy at the bottom left to jump straight into the action.
Win Potential
Like most Hacksaw Gaming slots, the RTP is quite high and definitely valued at 96.33%. This is followed by a high volatility level leading to larger wins but less often which has become quite the norm in online slots.
Evidently, we were pleasantly surprised with the maximum win in this slot with 7,500x the stake which can be achieved through the bonus rounds with the multipliers. It's high enough to provide value to players whilst also being achievable.
Our Verdict
At first, we didn't know what to think of this slot as the design can be seen as quite tacky and the formulaic gameplay from Hacksaw Gaming is getting a little outdated. Thankfully, the game managed to charm us with the hilarious design and the animals throughout.
Whilst the gameplay is quite standard for Hacksaw Gaming, it still works and will provide entertainment. Pug Life is unusual for Hacksaw Gaming in terms of design, but one that is worth checking out.
