Monopoly Bring the House Down
Monopoly Bring the House Down is a 5-reel, 40 payline gaming-themed slot that's based on the classic Hasbro board game developed by Barcrest. This slot is filled to the brim with exciting and innovative bonus features, so if you're someone that's after something a little extra then we can absolutely assure you that this slot will tick all the right boxes!
Design
If you're a fan of Monopoly then you'll be suitably satisfied with everything this game has to offer in terms of design, Monopoly Bring the House Down is filled with iconography from the iconic board game that'll have you feeling especially nostalgic for childhood game nights with family and friends.
As the name suggests, everything here is related to the board game itself, with green houses being one of the most important elements as they signify hot zones. Low paying symbols are your standard 10, J, Q, K, A whilst high paying symbols are all silver board pieces from Monopoly, these are boats, cars, cats and dogs. The scatter symbol is a red square with the Monopoly M in the centre, whilst the wild symbol is the green house with the word WILD written within it.
As you're all aware, the aim of the game when playing Monopoly is the accumulate wealth, and this slot feels like it's all about wealth and prosperity. The game reels, menus and buttons are all surrounded by elegant and expensive-looking gold trim. The only thing we'd say is missing is any sort of soundtrack when the reels aren't actually spinning, other than that we're pretty impressed with the theming of this slot.
Gameplay
This slot plays like your stereotypical 5-reel video slot, with one notable exception. When plays spin the reels a row of Hot Zone Houses (green Monopoly houses) spin in addition to the reels, when the reels have finished spinning they may well drop onto the reels in a cluster, acting as wild symbols. What's more, Mr Monopoly himself may appear, pull a lever and force these Hot Zone Houses into hotels, which are multiplied wilds.
In terms of navigating the slot itself everything is pretty self-explanatory, an action bar runs along the bottom of the screen below the reels, on the left-hand side there's an info button, next to this is the stake selection. In the middle is a large green spin button and directly to the right of that is a Big Bet button that allows players to make spins with a 100% guarantee of having 1, 2, 3 or 4 community chest cards coming into play. However, it should be noted that the feature buy option should not be available to UK players, however, when we tested this game with real money it was strangely still active and useable.
Win Potential
This medium volatility slot has ranging RTPs with bets below £2 having an RTP of 94.10%, bets above £2 having an RTP of 96.10% and bets using the Big Bet feature having an RTP of 98.10%. The maximum win in Monopoly Bring the House Down is just 200x the player's stake, which is pretty depressing, but it's not that surprising considering the age of this slot.
Our Verdict
Monopoly Bring the House Down genuinely offers something quite different from other branded slots thanks to the innovative Hot Zone Feature that sees green houses fall onto the reels in random clusters, turning symbols wilds at any given moment. Other than that, it's a pretty straight forward game, but we're not complaining at all!
