Mahjong X Review
I mentioned that Mahjong X wasn’t the only Pragmatic Play release for the 1st of November—the other is Rujak Bonanza. These games are pretty much identical but differ in theme. So you can decide if you’d like to visit the Orient or Indonesia today!
Design
It doesn't take a modern-day sleuth to work out that Mahjong X is based on the famous tile game and its setting is somewhere in China. You have the obligatory Chinese music blaring away in the background and there's even a fetching blue-haired dragon who will hopefully bring you some luck. It's a very stereotypical creation and shouldn't offend or excite anybody to any great extent.
Gameplay
There isn't much to look forward to in the Base game beyond the Tumble feature. Watching the cascading reels remove winning symbols and give you the opportunity to land further wins is always a welcome mechanic. However, a little extra would have gone a long way. The Bonus game is okay and what it lacks in excitement it certainly makes up for in winning potential with those Multiplier symbols working their magic.
Win Potential
The official word from the developer is that 21,175x is available if everything goes your way. This certainly won't be happening during the Base game, so hope and pray you get to the Bonus area to see those Multiplier figures. The RTP is perfectly situated at 96.6% and the volatility is medium/high.
My Verdict
This Bonus game can produce some extreme wins but I can't hide my disappointment with the Base game being a little underwhelming. It's up to you, If you're looking for more intricate game mechanics with a bit of a storyline, then you might want to keep on searching, but if you like big win potential, then go for it!
