Shinobi Spirit Review
According to Wikipedia, shinobi were covert agents highly skilled in guerrilla warfare. Their weapon of choice was the Katana and they're certainly putting them to good use in Shinobi Spirit. Watch them slash their way through the various symbols to pick up prizes and add them to your balance throughout this intense adventure from Print Studios.
Design
The game is set in a forgotten village, apparently in the 15th century, and everything looks ever so slightly abandoned. This could be due to the various spirits unleashing mayhem upon the poor locals and as they do so, your balance will hopefully benefit.
Various animated elements are present in this game, most notably during the Shinobi Bonus as you watch the ninjas take aim and slash across the screen at various targets. It is fun to watch on mobile devices as well, so if you like to take your slot action with you on the move, then go ahead.
The soundtrack and special effects have an eerie feel to them and help give this game that dark spiritual air to keep the tension levels running high.
Game Play
The inclusion of the Bamboo Prizes throughout the base game has given this production a lift in the right direction and you never know when you might get the chance to collect those multiplier figures. As is usually the case, the bonus round extends upon the base game idea and gives it an extra twist to make it all the more enticing.
If you have the option—outside the UK—to head straight there using the feature bet, this will cost you 100x but you may decide it is worth it to get down to the very best that this slot has to offer straight away. You may also have the option to use the Scatter Boost which will add 50% on top of your regular bet to see more Scatter symbols doing the rounds.
Win Potential
As we have seen, there is a massive 20,000x top payout available for some lucky customers but the rest of us will have to settle for regular wins that land with a hit frequency of 34.61%. the RTP is good enough at 96.26% and the volatility isn't too aggressive with a 4/5 rating.
Our Verdict
Shinobi Spirit is a well-crafted slot and we wouldn't expect anything less from a developer of Print Gaming's calibre. A lot of thought has gone into both the design and the gameplay and both of these elements go hand in hand throughout the adventure. Big wins are obviously what we want to see, but even without huge payouts, there's still a lot to like about this game.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
