Joker Loot Review
We mentioned right at the start that this is, indeed, a curious creation. It has the potential to develop into something quite intriguing but the feature setup doesn't quite feel polished at present.
We like the idea but the major flaw is that you have to work far too hard to reap the rewards of any multiplier figures presented by the Cash Hop symbols during the Looting Feature. And it doesn't feel like it's teasing you either with the potential to see everything unfold in the not-too-distant future. It is hard enough to trigger the Looting Feature let alone watch it make the 6 steps to actually produce any multiplying action.
Design
We aren't quite sure why we are in a mine and we don't know why there is even a joker present in this game. The theme feels disjointed and it doesn't quite work. Nevertheless, the graphics are top class and whatever is going on here looks very good regardless.
The music is, perhaps, even more strange than the theme choice with a little light jazz playing in the background and you feel like you're waiting for the Pink Panther to pop up at any moment.
Game Play
The chance of triggering the Looting Feature is what keeps you going through the base game, but when it does, that's only the beginning of the task at hand.
This is all made slightly easier during the free spins game as you have more Cash Hop symbols to start with and a better chance of getting the wheels in motion. If you have the Bonus Buy option and are playing outside the UK, then it might be a good idea to simply get straight to the main feature to watch it all unravel.
Win Potential
There is a very decent 12,000x max win available but the high volatility will not be kind along the way. The hit frequency is just over 20%, so wins will be produced once in every 5 spins, more or less. The RTP is ever so slightly under 96%, but nothing that should cause any great concern.
Our Verdict
We have to admit—rightly or wrongly—any slot featuring a joker does get a frosty reception from us and it's going to have to work hard to get us to like it. Joker Loot didn't raise the bar high enough to convince us that this theme deserves a break!
It's too difficult to trigger the feature and then even more difficult to get the feature to deliver the goods. On the plus side, the graphics are nice and you could win big if everything lines up at the right time when you hit that spin button. You never know.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
