It’s a scatter-pays slot, so as long as you land at least 8 symbols somewhere on the 6x5 grid, you’ll see your balance increase. There’s also a tumble/cascading reels feature - the symbols of winning combinations disappear, allowing for more symbols to drop down thus more potential wins. The game’s introduction actually does a decent job of explaining how the game and its features work. On top of that, the layout is top-notch - you can clearly see what your wins consist of, what they’re worth and how the different features function.
The background is basically a nondescript cloudy vanilla sky and the game area is filled with an array of sweets of a variety of bright colours. To the right, there’s a candy machine which serves as a meter for how many tumbles you’ve triggered.
The game’s overall design is quite basic. There’s a lot of colour but you're basically seeing pictures of sweets spinning on reels, so it’d be a little harsh to criticise the graphics, as they’re obviously not the game’s focal point. The quality of the sound effects is good, though. Similarly, the dad rock playing in the background is pretty catchy.
I found that some of the reels looked a bit clunky when playing the game on a smartphone, but other than that, the game looks and sounds great.
iSoftBet is onto another winner with Jawbreaker. The gameplay is superb in both the base game and Free Spins. Even though the volatility is only medium, there are some very big wins up for grabs. The game’s only real shortcoming is the rather lacklustre visuals, but the features are so engrossing, that I doubt most players will notice.
