We’ve become acquainted with John and Jane Hunter - now it’s time for Jackpot Hunter! It’s either an oddly named explorer or simply someone searching for big payouts. I’m leaning towards the second! 5,000x is the main prize on this jungle adventure, which takes us on a journey through a bonus map feature, free spins and more.
20 paylines are all you get on this adventure through a fairly large-looking jungle. Your lowest value pay symbols are not royal symbols, but instead, a series of picture symbols. You make your way from a torch to a male explorer giving payouts of 2.5x for a group of five torches and up to 50x for a group of five explorer symbols.
Various others garner rewards in between those two figures. Wild symbols are also worth 50x for a 5-of-a-kind win and these substitute for others except scatters, bonus and jackpot symbols. Bonus symbols can appear on the first, third and fifth reels and these represent the Grand, Major and Mini jackpots. Prizes range from 25x to 2500x.
If you get three of the bonus symbols hitting the reels at the same time, you go off to play the bonus map feature. There are 41 places to travel on this map and there's a wheel of fortune thrown in for good measure. You get five spins and each stops on a random number of steps. You can move between 1 and 8 steps along the trail - this is shown by a light. Where the light stops, a cash payout is received and it could be the word ‘jackpot’, which represents one of the three or four mentioned big prizes.
Regular cash payouts are up to 20x. If you land three ‘jackpot’ words on your travels, you'll be randomly selected to receive one of the three lower jackpot prizes. However, if you get four jackpots, it'll only be a choice between the Grand or Major payout. 5 jackpots pay you directly the Grand 2,500x payout.
Three scatter symbols will fetch you 12 free spins and the jackpot symbol is now activated. It's fairly similar to the previous game in terms of collecting jackpots. The rest of the game, though, is more like the base game where you simply have 12 spins to see how many winning combos you can hit.
Some areas outside the UK can buy directly into the free spins game for a 60x payment and 20x will get direct access to the bonus map feature. Out of the two, I got the most enjoyment from the bonus map and it seemed like quite a bargain at 20x. Having made my way halfway around the trail, I ended up with a 15x payout. It's good fun but as always, you might not get back what you put in.

I wasn't overly enthused by my returns from buying directly into the trail bonus game. The base game offered me much better payouts and thanks to the wild symbol, I saw the occasional big win. The game does have high volatility so you should expect your balance to suffer a little while you wait for those larger prizes. Hitting the Grand jackpot will shove your balance back right where you need it with a 2,500x payout. Just two of these will see you hit the max 5000x win. The RTP is right on the money at 96%.
Whether or not it's Jane and John or a couple of their relatives who are joining in the adventure, you'll still see some intrepid explorers on these reels. These characters have the highest payouts and you'll recognise them in there amongst the whips, maps and other Indiana Jones paraphernalia. The reels benefit from some climbing ivy and you can make out some other lush vegetation to the side and in the background. A river flows peacefully behind the scene and you're treated to some typical jungle noises while you spin.
