Given its name, you’d think Immortal 5 was the 5th instalment of an undying series of slots. Not so. This Relax Gaming slot is centred around 5 superheroes battling evil in a neon-lit future. It’s as volatile as any supervillain, and there are loads of features to be enjoyed.
To win in Immortal 5, you need to land matching symbols along the 15 paylines, starting from the leftmost reel. The card suit symbols are the low pays. A 5-of-a-kind is worth 1x the stake. The 5 superheroes are the high pays, with a 5-of-a-kind being worth between 3x and 20x. The Wilds and expanding Wilds substitute for these pay symbols. If you land a 5-of-a-kind made up of Wilds, you can win 20x too.
On a random spin, up to 5 expanding Immortal Wilds can be added to the grid. When this happens, it’ll precipitate a respin. On said respin, if you land any more Immortal Wilds, you’ll trigger another respin. The Wilds can carry multipliers of between 2x and 100x!
If you land a Silver Bonus symbol on reels 3, 4 and 5, you’ll trigger the corresponding bonus round. You start with 6 free spins and 2 random Power-Up packs. These can be an extra 3 free spins, a Multiplier Boost or extra Hero Wilds. You can choose to play in Hero Mode 1 with lower volatility or Hero Mode 2 with higher volatility.

In Hero Mode 2 each symbol position carries a multiplier that doubles whenever it forms part of a win. Hero Wilds collect all multiplier values on the same reel. That total multiplier value will remain. In both Hero modes, Hero Wilds stay in place until the end of the round.
If you land Gold Bonus symbols instead of Silvers, you trigger the Gold Bonus. Along with the 6 free spins and Power-Up picks, you get an extra Super Power-Up pick. This can be an Immortal Transformer, which means a standard pay symbol will always land as a Wild. It could also be a Starting Hero Wild Reel, meaning 1 reel becomes a sticky Hero Wild. The Super Power-Up can also take the form of 6 Extra Free Spins.

The RTP is a decent 96.1%, but the volatility is definitely high. Wins don’t hit very often, as there are few paylines. Also, the value of the pay table isn’t much to write home about. When you hit a Hero Wild, though, you might find yourself handsomely compensated.
There’s lots of win potential in the complex bonus rounds, too. You can decide how volatile you want the round to be. Thanks to the Power-Ups, the chances are you’ll see some massive wins, regardless of the volatility. This is why I see the max win of 10,000x as a realistic figure. The only issue is that it could be a good long while before you manage to trigger either of the 2 bonus rounds.
Behind the 5x5 game area, you can see what looks like New York 100 years in the future. The sea and cityscape are bathed in the light of a purple sunset. The reels and character animations are all top-notch. The game looks and feels just as good on mobile as it does on desktop.
The epic orchestral music is right out of a Marvel movie, and it sounds equally as well produced. It’s also got a nice techno element running through it. The music in Free Spins will certainly get those pulses racing.
