DJ Fox has a bit of an odd setup and you're either going to love it or hate it. Personally, it isn't my favorite kind of game but I do see why some players would relish the chance to spin these reels.
You begin with just one row and you'll need vinyl records or VIP symbols to land. The records have a number that can be added together to calculate any potential win. The number multiplied by your bet amount is then divided by 10 and this is your payout figure.
VIP symbols land and are removed while bringing in another row. The VIP symbol then sits in the Multiplier Meter. When it gets high enough, a Multiplier will come into play. This can continue up to a maximum of five rows high. A 20x Multiplier sits at the top of the Multiplier Meter and this would produce your biggest additional payout.
You might also notice the Padlock symbol—this can come into play randomly and will lock the Multiplier Meter in place for your next spin, rather than reducing it back down to zero as is the norm.
Landing VIP symbols gives you the chance to see this tiny grid start to expand. A new row is added and the Dud symbols respin while payout figures remain in place. Another VIP symbol arriving during the respin continues the process.
VIP symbols are removed and added to the Multiplier Meter, which helps increase your chances of adding some additional value to your prizes.
The Multiplier Meter can lock randomly and any Multipliers in play can stay put for your next spin. This could help produce another payout.
If you are in the mood for something a little different, then DJ Fox could be right up your alley. The way the reels ebb and flow, depending on your VIP status, is a unique way of looking at things and having good old-fashioned Multipliers added to the mix helps keep you grounded while you dance the night away.
As you would expect, DJ Fox is a prominent character and isn't just lending his name to the production. He sits in the top right-hand corner spinning the decks and overseeing the action. The background is mainly taken up with enormous speakers and your futuristic set of reels sit front and centre. There is a suitably monotonous soundtrack keeping your ears warm while you play, but this can be toggled off at your discretion.
Concepts like this are always going to suffer in the gameplay department, depending on who reviews the slot. For me, it isn't my bag so I can't get too excited about the one-line Base game that loosely develops into a Bonus as a VIP symbol lands. If there were more ways to lock the rows with additional modifiers and somehow spice things up a bit, then I would have been singing much higher praises.
