Bee Hive Bonanza Review
Looking for a bumble bee-rific slot to get lost in and be charmed by? Bee Hive Bonanza is a grid slot that plays on 5x5 and contains a bunch of adorable bees blindly following the Queen Bee.
Developed by NetEnt, this animal slot focuses on collect features, free spins and a bonus buy leading to wins of up to 5,000x the stake that will leave you buzzing!
Design
Honestly, we were pleasantly surprised at how adorable the graphics for this game are. When the game opens up, the slot is set in a field throughout Medieval times with flowers all over the reels.
In the middle of the screen is the grid with all the symbols that look like different currencies there are some in gold and bronze but each has a cute little bee on it. The slot starts in the daytime but transforms to darkness throughout the free spins round.
Surprisingly, the music is not as light or soft as we'd like but can get quite annoying. There is a soft violin score throughout the spins, but then this is enhanced during wins or the free spins round with the bees chanting and making annoying noises. We definitely had to mute the slot at certain moments.
Gameplay
This game plays just like any other grid slot with the matching of 6 different symbols - but is enhanced through the collect features. There is nothing new or innovative going on in this slot, but it's fresh enough to deliver entertaining moments.
Like most NetEnt slots, the menus and all the relevant buttons can be found at the bottom of the screen with the spin button and bet level button in the middle.
Win Potential
Bee Hive Bonanza is nothing overly special in terms of the win potential, but it's decent enough for players to find enjoyment and satisfying moments. The RTP is just above the average with a level of 96.09% and there is a high volatility level leading to bigger wins but less often.
Now, the biggest win in this slot is only 5,000x the stake which is under the average expected level but it's nothing too off-putting to make the game unplayable. It's just worth bearing in mind the game is capped at 5,000x the stake and players looking for larger wins should look elsewhere.
Our Verdict
For the past couple of slot releases, NetEnt has had hit-and-miss responses. Bee Hive Bonanza seems to be a throwback to the cutesy slots from the developer such as Finn's Golden Tavern and Aloha! Cluster Pays.
Not only are the graphics adorable, but the gameplay is lighthearted and fun enough to deliver a solid experience. This could easily become a new-favourite slot for enthusiasts that will have them coming back.
Of course, the audio in the slot with the annoying noises is an acquired taste but that's what the mute button is there for. Be sure to bumble on and give Bee Hive Bonanza a spin.
