Wushu Punch Review
In East Asia, Wushu is a popular form of martial arts that is respected across the world and Playtech's Rare Stone decided to combine this concept with inspiration from fighting video games from the early 2000s.
Wushu Punch is an oriental slot playing on 5-reels with 20 paylines. In the game, players can expect respins, free spins, fixed jackpots and stacked wilds to add even more excitement to the game.
Design
This game opens up in the streets of China with various neon signs lighting up the screen mixed with traditional Chinese pagoda buildings. Throughout the slot, there is rain mixed with lightning to really add a dramatic atmosphere to the slot.
All the symbols on the reels relate to the female protagonist such as lucky coins, Yin and Yang symbols, motorbikes and the female in a multitude of different cool looking costumes.
In a shocking twist, the music in this slot is relaxing and goes for a tranquil atmosphere rather than something more intense. There are flutes and woodwind instruments playing throughout that are done tastefully so.
Gameplay
Thankfully, Wushu Punch is absolutely bursting with gameplay options from free spins to respins. There is so much going on and none of it is too complicated.
Like most Rare Stone slots, the spin button and bet level button can be found at the bottom of the screen along with other settings such as sound.
Win Potential
Unfortunately, this is where the game begins to lose our attention as the RTP for this slot is under the average standard at 95.99%. The maximum win for this slot is only 2,000x your stake which is low for a high volatility slot.
Additionally, the maximum win can only be achieved through the Strike and Spin respin meaning that it's quite difficult to achieve.
Our Verdict
Rare Stone managed to deliver what they intended - a cool looking slot inspired by video games and one that is entertaining to play. Sadly, the win potential definitely lets down this slot as the maximum win is too low.
Either a progressive jackpot needed to be added, or the RTP needed to be improved to make Wushu Punch a new fan favourite. Despite this, Wushu Punch is thrilling to play at times and we recommend trying it out - but just be aware of the win potential beforehand.
