Tundra’s Fortune Review
The biggest wins and most of the excitement come along with the bonus round in Tundra’s Fortune. Players in the UK will have to play along merrily until those Scatter symbols arrive but others may have another option. There is a chance to increase the possibility of landing the feature by placing stakes at 25% higher than usual. This doesn't mean that you'll get bigger payouts when landing regular wins though. It simply pushes those Scatter symbols into view more frequently. Now, let's take a look at what else this chap in a loincloth has been up to.
Design
As I have just pointed out, there is a strange young caveman clad in some form of animal fur that just about covers his modesty. This guy appears to be living out here on the tundra and we’ll never know how he amassed a 12,500x fortune back in the Ice Age! The whole setup is fairly predictable but attractive nonetheless.
Gameplay
The Hexagonal Ways do offer a little visual relief from the standard reel sets that some slots present. But regardless of how useful this format is, it does mean that you can land wins on adjacent reels and the five high-paying animal symbols will do you a solid with just two of them landing in a row. You’ll want to get to the Free Spins Bonus as soon as you can given that the Wild symbols have the additional Multiplier and this is where your balance could start to boom.
Win Potential
Speaking of booming balances, the maximum amount that you will walk away with in Tundra's Fortune is 12,500x. Several visits to the exclusive Free Spins Bonus will probably be necessary to get anywhere close to this figure. The volatility is very high and the RTP is 96.04%. For those interested in hit frequency stats, this game comes in at 25% meaning that one in four of your spins should hit a win of some sort.
My Verdict
I wrongly assumed that an icy tundra was a barren landscape without much fertile promise lurking beneath the topsoil. It seems that someone did leave a lot of gold coins lying around back then and there's a good chance that players can pick up a decent haul if they hit this spin button at the right time. There is definitely a bit of an Ice Age movie feel to Tundra’s Fortune, so you can expect a treat for your eyes and ears while your wallet gets ready to collect any potential wins.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
