The game’s music in both the base game and the two bonus rounds would make Sergio Leon’s hair stand on end. The game’s setting is a mountainous Western frontier, ideal for prospectors with the bright blue sky complemented by fluffy clouds. To finish off the scene, beautiful dry-rock formations tower above everlasting plains of dry grass.
The two nicely rendered main characters flank the game area - two cartoon gunslingers, one male, one female. The symbols and reels are as well designed and animated as the characters. Upon landing a win, bullets ricocheting can be heard, which does add to the satisfaction.
Both free spins rounds take place at night, although in Who Shot the Sheriff?, the action takes place within a town as opposed to in the middle of the county.
The game looks all but the same on mobile, although the reel animations aren’t quite as smooth as on larger devices.
Given the sticky Wilds and Wild multiplier, there’s plenty to keep you engaged in the base game and both the bonus games are fantastic, too. The Stick to the Plan bonus is quite similar to the base game but Wilds fall more frequently and the maximum value of the multipliers shoots up. With the additional features including expanding Wilds, the Who Shot the Sheriff? round takes it up yet another notch! The only downside is that it can prove difficult to trigger.
The game’s volatility level is only medium, so normally you would expect to hit average-sized wins fairly regularly. However, the different types of Wilds are literally game changers - their varying functions helped me hit bigger wins. The 10,000x max win is great, as is the RTP of 96.29%.
