Raging Rhino Review
Hidden in the rainforest lies a Raging Rhino and his friends, and they have their own treasures tucked away in the forest. It’s up to you to join the stampede and take the treasure for yourself. Developed by WMS, Raging Rhino is an animal themed slot that is all about following in the footsteps of a rhino.
With 6-reels and 4,096 ways to win, Raging Rhino sure gives players a better chance to win. This combined with a free spins feature that offers players up to 50 free spins that can even be retriggered, sure sounds like an interesting slot to us.
The visuals of Raging Rhino are bright and colourful. It definitely stands out due to the contrast to the soft background of yellows mixed with the intense blue on the reels. The downside is that it looks a little dated despite only being released in 2015.
Now, the symbols look fairly decent but learn more towards realistic than cartoony. Unfortunately, some of the colours of the animals blend in poorly with the reels. The crocodile and hawk especially can fade into the background a little too much which is obviously not what you want when you are playing.
Thankfully, the music is appropriate and not overbearing. You’ll hear a safari music inspired track between spins, but none afterwards. Instead, you’ll hear ambient sounds of the animals and the rainforest which is perhaps better. There’s more of a focus on the slots rather than what is going on around it.
There’s really not a lot to this slot which can be seen as a negative or a positive. If you are wanting loads of features and engaging mechanics - this is not the slot for you. For those of you wanting a simple slot with some fun, then perhaps Raging Rhino is one to check out.
All the menus can be found at the bottom of the screen with the spin button being at the end. If you are wanting to autospin, then you can easily find it to the far left and set up to 100 autospins.
Now this is where the slot gets a little too disappointing for our liking. The RTP is decent at 95.91% with a high volatility level, but the maximum payout is low. If you manage to spin all 5 of the scatters, you could win up to 1,000x your stake - which is the maximum in the game.
During the free spins round, you could gain multipliers of up to 3x when wilds are used in a combo. As you cannot substitute scatters with wilds, you’ll have to rely on the rhino symbol which can grant players 7.5x their stake through rolling 5. If this includes the multiplier, then you could win a maximum 22.5x your stake. This isn’t earth shattering and may put some players off.
Raging Rhino is a product of its time and is decent enough for players, but is clearly no one's favourite slot. If you want to experience Raging Rhino, then we’d suggest trying Raging Rhino Ultra. It’s got a higher maximum payout and a better RTP. The graphics look a little better and it is generally just a better slot.
You are more than welcome to try out this slot as the free spins round definitely has some charm with 50 free spins being nothing to turn away from. The biggest fault ultimately lies in the lack of features and lack of huge win potential. Honestly, do yourself a favour and try Raging Rhino Ultra instead.
