Peggy Sweets Review
This isn't a regular theme for a slot developer like Red Tiger. In fact, it isn't a common theme for anybody. We are assuming that it plays out in a 1950s-style diner where sugary desserts are the latest rage after the war.
Peggy Sweets uses Red Tigers' version of cluster pays (aka grid slots) which helps to keep the gameplay a little more interesting than a standard slot and the random prize drops can also add to the excitement. Like the doughnuts, this game may well have a limited shelf life. And we don't even think it's a case of love it or hate it; most players will probably think it's simply ‘OK’.
Design
No one ever complains about Red Tiger’s eye for detail. Peggy Sweets, like most of their other games, is highly detailed and extremely well-produced. The pink fluffy theme is an odd choice but we have to say that they have executed it perfectly.
All of the symbols are desserts and waitress images, of which the latter will pay the bigger prizes. The grid is quite small compared to the background and this can make it quite difficult to focus on, depending on the size of the screen that you are using. Either way, you are welcome to try it out on any sized device, including mobiles if you wish.
We aren't quite sure what to say about the soundtrack other than it wasn't our cup of tea. It is a monotonous loop that will have you scrambling for the volume button in no time. But what do we know? You might love it!
Gameplay
A lot of time will be spent getting to grips with the base game, so make your peace with that fact and enjoy it. The waitress features will trigger from time to time bringing a little extra excitement.
But it is the free spins round where the majority of the action happens. If you are lucky enough to get there, then all of the features can happen at the same time and the game gets infinitely more interesting at that point.
Win Potential
5,173x stake is a very decent payout, especially if your wagers are pushed up towards the top end. However, it is a highly volatile game and this figure may not be a big enough reward for some players.
The RTP is about right at just under 96% so the house won't have a massive edge over the players. Some versions of this slot will also have the Red Tiger Jackpot which offers progressive jackpots and bigger wins. However, make sure you check with your chosen slot site to make sure the jackpot is available.
Our Verdict
Peggy Sweets really is a matter of personal preference. For us, it isn't the kind of game that gets us excited. But other players might think it's fantastic.
It is a decent enough adventure ploughing through the base game and watching the waitress features pop up from time to time. And we have to concede that the free spins game is pretty decent.
