Loco the Monkey Review
Played on 5-reels with 50 paylines, Quickspin’s Loco the Monkey is all about a cheeky monkey called Loco. This animal slot features grinning monkeys amidst a tropical jungle.
With free spins and respins, it has a multitude of features to help you get the maximum win of 6,829x your stake.
Design
Surrounded by jungle, Loco the Monkey starts with a vehicle turned over. A troublesome bunch of monkeys have caused havoc. The reels are surrounded by animated leaves and trees bringing more life to the slot. It has cartoonish graphics which makes the monkeys seem even cuter. The fruit and the symbols fly off the reels making it more exciting.
Thankfully, the tropical music isn’t too annoying and tolerable. It can be relaxing at times but the monkey noises can become frustrating. You may need to mute the slot at times if you keep winning.
Gameplay
There are no complicated mechanics to learn with this slot - as all you need to know is how to spin. Menus are traditionally at the bottom in Quickspin games, and it’s the same in this slot. Settings and instructions are to the far left, with the spin and autospin button to the right. There are between 10 and 1,000 autospins.
Win Potential
With an RTP at 96.15%, Loco the Monkey has a great theoretical return. The maximum base game payout is 10x your stake by landing 5 of the bananas. Filling up the reels during the free spin and respin modes with wilds can lead up to the maximum 6,829x your stake.
Loco the Monkey is a high volatility slot meaning that payouts will be less frequent but higher. Unfortunately, the low maximum payout of 6,829x your stake might not be enough to sustain veteran players.
Our verdict
It’s easy on the eyes and sounds great. Like most Quickspin slots, it has a high production value that makes it play well. There are some decent features but the low maximum payout might put some others off. It would’ve been a perfect slot for beginners if the volatility was low, but they decide to go for a high volatility one.
Loco the Monkey isn’t the worst animal slot ever but there are better options available. King Kong Cash is better for beginners whilst Gorilla Gold Megaways has a stronger payout.
