How does it work?
In a nutshell, the Hold & Spin mechanic is a respin feature that retriggers with each special symbol. It is usually triggered by landing 5 or more special symbols (usually money) and this will then take you to an alternative screen.
After you’ve been taken to a different screen, you often start with 4 respins but these reset each time that you land the special symbols. Ultimately, these special symbols stick to the reels until the bonus has finished. The Hold & Spin feature ends once you’ve filled up the reels or if you run out of spins.
Despite the fact that you often trigger this bonus by landing 5 money symbols, Cash Elevator actually triggers Hold & Spin by getting the floor up to 13. Whilst, this is the only example with non-traditional methods, it’s still part of the Hold & Spin mechanic.
