Kraken's Cove is played on a 7x7 game board and uses cluster pays instead of traditional paylines. This means that in order to make a winning combo, you need 5 symbols or more to be touching each other in a cluster.
There are 8 regular-paying symbols: 4 low-paying barrels with card suits on them, and 4 higher-paying symbols of various pirate paraphernalia, including a bottle of rum (called Kraken Juice), a pirate hat and a ship’s wheel. You need at least 5 symbols to make a winning cluster, but you can get as many as 32 together.
There is a standard wild, as well as the Ship Wild which is present in every spin and moves one step closer to the Hot Spot which is located in the centre of the grid every time you create a cluster win. When the Ship Wild gets to the Hot Spot, it expands to become anywhere between a 2x2 to 5x5 wild. When the expansion is complete, the ship disappears and then reappears in a random position.
The Ship Wild can reach the Hot Spot many times, and it carries a multiplier which increases by 1x every time it appears in a winning cluster. You can also increase the size of the Ship Wild by collecting coins in the form of Treasure Chest Wilds. If you can collect 5 coins, you’ll successfully increase the size of the Ship Wild as it reaches the hotspot.
Land 3 scatters during the base game to enter the free spins round with 5 spins. During this feature, the Ship Wild is upgraded and expanding wilds and multipliers remain persistent throughout the round. The wild multiplier increases by 1x every time it's included in a winning cluster and remains throughout the entire duration of the free spins game as well. You can increase the multiplier up to 50x.
