Judgement Day Megaways Review
When I first heard that I’d be reviewing a slot called Judgement Day Megaways, I got terribly excited and started thinking about the 1991 classic T2 movie. But it wasn't to be, so I'm back on my apocalyptic quest involving 4 horsemen instead.
Despite my initial disappointment, I soon perked up as the Megaways format began to offer up huge numbers of win lines and the Horsemen modifiers sprang into action. Red Tiger Gaming doesn't usually present such dark and dismal slot themes but I have to admit, I kind of liked it.
Design
What you have is a skull-encrusted set of reels with sharp and intricate symbols landing between a pair of bony hands that seem to be controlling everything as it unfolds. In terms of animation, there are some subtle touches with a light mist oozing from the base as you play. The music is quietly understated but suitably eerie and does perk up a little as the main bonus comes to life.
Gameplay
It is hard to get excited with such a tragic event on the horizon but the Megaways mechanic and Horseman modifiers will do their best to lighten your spirits. I did harness a certain amount of joy from what the base game had to offer but the Free Spins Bonus was definitely the star of the show with guaranteed modifiers happening on every spin.
Win Potential
I had no idea that the end of the world could be so potentially profitable with Judgement Day Megaways presenting a maximum 100,000x payout for some lucky players. The paylines can grow to 117,649 as each reel offers its 7 potential symbols and as you might expect, the volatility is very high. The RTP sits at 96%.
Our Verdict
This might not be the most exciting Megaways slot I have ever played but it certainly isn't the dullest. Unfortunately, I will have to reach for the word ‘mediocrity’ when it comes to Judgement Day Megaways' features and gameplay. However, you can't argue with the numbers and that huge maximum payout along with a massive number of win lines could produce the goods if you take on the challenge at the right moment. It's possibly more a game for those looking for payout potential rather than action and adventure.
