This isn't Hacksaw Gaming's first dive into the world of dorks with a previous attempt to satisfy an entire unit of them! Dork Unit doesn't seem to have anything to do with Dorks of the Deep and that's probably just as well as the two games are literally worlds apart.
In this quirky creation, you'll find expanding octopus symbols that might put a smile on your face and ocean kings who could multiply wins by up to 200x.
There might only be 14 paylines to work with but thankfully, this game does offer a little extra action in the form of an expanding wild reel.
Wins are made up of royal symbols or pictures and matching combos must start on the leftmost reel.
The lowest payout is for a group of three matching royals and with the 10 symbol, this is only worth 0.20x. Aces can grab you up to 1.50x for a 5-of-a-kind win and as you move up to the top of the picture symbols, the Ocean King will pay up to 10x.
Five wild symbols will also pay a 10x reward if you make up a win entirely of these icons.
Treasure chests can turn into octopuses, mermaids or ocean kings and the way they do this is by expanding into a full stack symbol if a win is possible when they do so. They also add a multiplier and each character carries a different level.
The octopus multipliers are worth between 2x and 9x and the mermaid ones have values worth between 10x and 20x. The top multipliers come from the Ocean King and here you'll get boosts between 25x and 200x.

I didn't see it happen all too often and I had to wait to get to the bonus game before I picked up anything worth mentioning. Still, after 10 free spins, I walked off with just over 60x and for a medium volatility game, the payouts were quite frequent.
Dorks of the Deep definitely gives a few nods to The Little Mermaid! Many of the characters are recognisable in a pretty tongue-in-cheek way with King Triton having lost his six-pack and instead gained a beer belly and a tattoo!
Even the soundtrack is pretty close to some of the original music from the movie and I hope that Disney doesn't get its knickers in a twist!
