DJ Psycho Features
This developer is doubling down on confusing the hell out of their fans and praying that they'll work it all out. We hope the gamble pays off. One of the major problems here is that many slots fans don't want to read an in-depth analysis of exactly how all the features work.
We bring you reviews like this to offer a brief overview but writing out step-by-step instructions isn't the idea.
Unfortunately, sometimes it's necessary and with many Nolimit City games, this certainly seems to be the case. Moaning and ranting aside, here's what you can look forward to when you begin to unpack this maze of ideas.
A look at the modifiers
Everything plays out on a 4x4 grid that takes the form of a digital mixing table with a number of symbols and an abundance of flashing lights. There are 10 symbols in play and they are low, medium and high value.
Each time you hit the spin button, there's a chance that you can land a cluster win and this is where 3 or more symbols are connected at the top or the side. The max payouts will come when you hit 40+ symbols in a combo.
At any point, a modifier can trigger and it will leave its mark on any symbols that were affected in the process. These become Crossed symbols and you'll see a little cross on them just so you know that they have been modified. When this happens the first time, medium and low-paying symbols turn into additional symbols with the same value and if they get transformed again, they become a wild symbol.
The modifiers that may occur are:
- xKnob - turns into Wilds and adds a minimum of +1 to the multiplier
- Break - itself and symbols next to it are given additional values
- Bite - itself and symbols in a diagonal line are given additional values
- Drop - if two pieces of a Drop symbol land on the reels, then a bunch of matching symbols will connect the dots
- xKnob - these symbols turn into a Wild and add +1 to the multiplier
- xBPM - as these symbols land, they turn into a Wild and the symbol size increases by 2 for any that are on the same row
Free Spins
Two bonus games are waiting for you in DJ Psycho and these are lovingly known as Gees! Spinz and Pscho Spinz. Players outside the UK may be able to use the Nolimit City Bonus to head straight to the bonus rounds and it will cost 50x for Gees! Spinz and 420x for Psycho Spinz.
For the rest of us that fall under the watchful eye of the UKGC, we will have to make our way there in a more natural manner. To hit the first bonus, it's necessary to collect 3 wins containing squares of a predetermined colour. When this happens, the reward is 5 free spins. If anyone manages to hit 5 wins of every single colour, then 17 free spins are the prize with a sticky multiplier and guaranteed modifiers each and every time you hit a winning combo.
You can keep track of your wins and see how close you are getting to the bonus games by checking out the Beat Bar.
