Have you ever wanted to be a game show contestant? Now’s your chance with All For One Studios’ 6 Token of Gold: Mystery Joker. This Link&Win slot has Mini, Minor, Mega and Maxi jackpots worth up to 10,000x, Wilds, Mystery symbols and Free Spins.
The 5x3 game area has 25 paylines. To win, you need to land matching symbols on the paylines, starting from the leftmost reel. The pieces of fruit are the low-pay symbols, with a 5-of-a-kind worth up to 2x the bet. The horseshoe, bell, bar and number 7 symbols are the high pays. Land a 5-of-a-kind and you can win up to 10x.
The Wilds don’t just substitute for the pay symbols - they also function as pay symbols themselves. Landing a 5-of-a-kind pockets you 10x. There are also Mystery symbols, which all transform into the same random pay symbol.
If you manage to land 6 or more coin symbols, you’ll trigger the Link&Win round. You have 3 spins, but every time you land a coin or jackpot symbol, the number of spins resets. The object is to land as many coins or jackpot symbols as possible. If you manage to fill all 15 squares, you automatically trigger the Maxi jackpot of 10,000x! The values of the normal coins are 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x and 50x. You can also land Mini, Minor and Mega jackpot coins, which automatically trigger their jackpots worth 20x, 100x and 750x respectively.
Landing at least 3 scatters awards 6 free spins. You can win 3 more spins if, during the round, you land 2 more scatters. If you land 3 scatters on any one spin, you win 6 more spins. Any Mystery symbols that land can be up to 3x3 in size. It’s still possible to trigger Link&Win, too.
Players outside the UK can buy instant access to Free Spins for 40x the bet. Alternatively, for 5x5, you can trigger Link&Win.
I wasn’t spinning for long before I was lucky enough to trigger the Link&Win feature, which is where you have the potential to win the 10,000x max-win jackpot. Given that you only need to fill 15 spaces on the grid to do so, it looks like a realistic prize.
The free spins round gives players yet more opportunities to hit returns, and you only need 3 scatters to trigger it. You only get 6 spins, but it’s not that difficult to trigger further spins, and the Mystery symbols can be 2x2 or even 3x3 in size.
Land 6 coin symbols to trigger Link&Win. Your 3 spins reset with each coin you land - coins are worth between 1x to 50x. The Mini, Minor and Mega jackpots are worth 20x, 100x and 750x. To win the 10,000x jackpot, just fill the 5x3 grid!
Land 3 scatters to win 6 free spins. 2 further scatters grants 3 extra spins, while 3 more will grant 6 more spins! The Mystery symbols can be 2x2 or even 3x3 in size!
The volatility is high, but there are so many different ways for players to hit returns. The Wilds and Mystery symbols often appeared to lend a hand, too. I saw a lot of coin symbols, which leads me to believe that the Link&Win round isn’t a rarity. Similarly, the max win of 10,000x looks much easier to trigger than many others of the same value - you only need to fill a 5x3 grid. Even if you don’t succeed in triggering the max win, the round offers 3 other jackpots, not to mention the 1x-to-50x values of the standard coins that fall.
The game starts with a brief but comprehensive explanation of how the game works. It doesn’t explain everything in minute detail, but it gives you a good overview. To the left of the 5x3 grid you can see the values of the jackpots. The game’s got some interesting features, but the layout makes everything easy to follow. If you choose to play on mobile instead of desktop, everything looks and sounds pretty much the same.
The overall aesthetic has a heavy 90’s/early 2000’s gameshow vibe. Think Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. The narrator even sounds like an American version of Chris Tarrant. The background is made up of circles within circles of varying shades of purple, and there’s a circular stage underneath the game area.
There’s some funky Steely-Dan-influenced music playing in the background. When you trigger Free Spins, you hear typical game-show music - the sound of the audience clapping in the background is a little cringeworthy, mind.
I highly recommend 6 Tokens of Gold: Mystery Joker! The game-show aesthetic might not be to everyone’s taste, but the game excels in all other areas. Both the base game and bonus games are fun to play, and I felt I had a decent chance of winning the 10,000x.
