Wolf Hiding Review
Wolf Hiding is one in a long line of wolf-themed slots that have proved incredibly popular over the last few years. However, the niche is in danger of being over-saturated. So has Evoplay managed to make its product stand out from the competition?
The emphasis is on the features and with high volatility, it's possible that some of them could pay out big time. Even during the base game, you are likely to see the mystery symbols feature landing fairly often and these have a habit of delivering some decent wins along the way.
This is quite surprising as games like this usually leave you spinning for a long time before the features kick in. And with an RTP of just under 96%, Evoplay has been more than generous with the winning potential up for grabs. Wolf hiding is available to play on mobile devices too thanks to the compatible iOS and Android versions.
Design
In an audiovisual sense, this title doesn't offer anything that we haven't seen before. Firstly, we have to say that it is beautifully crafted—as we would expect from top producers like Evoplay. It offers a luring and ominous mountain scene with a haunting soundtrack to match. But this is fairly standard for games in this genre.
The premise is that the wolf and his close adversaries have come together to create some winning opportunities for slot fans—and this is the part that they do well. The characters don’t feature in any way other than having their own symbol values. It would have been nice to see them come alive during the feature and play a more integral role.
Gameplay
There are no fancy game mechanics or intricate payline formations to intrigue or confuse in this game. It's a standard 5-reel real affair with 20 paylines working just as you would expect them to. You have standard options to select your bet totals that will evenly distribute an equal wager across each of the lines. And for players outside the UK, there's an option to autospin up to 100 times if you'd prefer.
The free spins feature is a little different to usual in that, technically, there are an unlimited amount of spins available. And you might just get more spins than you are used to thanks to the way the hidden feature continues to move down the reels. It produces further spins and adds to the multiplier total as it makes its way down.
It has the potential to keep the dream alive for quite a while. We also love the addition of the full moon feature where you can land unexpected multipliers throughout the base game and the main feature round. This is certainly something that you won't find very often and can help to keep your balance intact while you're waiting for bigger wins to land.
Win Potential
With high volatility slots, you expect the opportunity to earn some extraordinary prizes. Your bankroll can take a battering while you play and it's the promise of those enormous wins that keeps your finger on the spin button.
The maximum payout is 30,000x, which equates to 900k in whatever currency unit you are playing in. It's possible to hit big wins when the full moon symbols land during the base game. But most of the damage will be done during the free spins round. Huge multipliers can build up and see those mega wins rack up before your eyes if everything goes to plan.
Our Verdict
As far as wolf-themed or other animal slots go, this is a great example of how to keep fans entertained throughout the journey. The graphics and soundtrack might not blow your mind but they certainly do a decent job of holding your attention all the same. The real crowning glory of this title is the array of features on offer and the big payouts that are possible.
