For starters, you can take home a regular win and 1,024 ways when up to 5 matching symbols land on adjacent reels. The best from this bunch is 5x. Wild symbols cannot land on the first reel, but they will substitute for all paying symbols.
If the treasure map symbols land on the reels, they’re collected by the map and gem meter. For every 4 of these that are collected in the treasure map meter, you pick up a feature: a random win, symbol upgrade, wild multipliers and split symbols may occur.
When the gem meter reaches the top, you play the mystery pick bonus.
First, there is the mystery pick, and when you have 20 gems collected, you'll simply keep selecting mystery bonus amounts until the collect symbol is revealed, and at that point, you grab a prize equal to the multipliers unveiled.

Whichever way you cut it, both of the meters are eventually working you towards the special pick bonus. Unfortunately, the little features along the way did nothing to improve my balance, and I couldn't help feeling a little dissatisfied when I finally reached the bonus.
The multiplier figures that you land along the way may well be quite small, but at least you'll be taking them all home once you reach the pick symbol bonus, won’t you? Not so! Even if they are small multipliers, you may only pick up a couple of them before you reveal a collect symbol and the anticlimax is realised. It may work out in your favour though, and you could pick up a win worth up to 15,000x.
There is a certain charm to Sunken City Riches with steampunk and Mesoamerican themes colliding together in quite a bizarre way. Your multiplier prizes are added on the cogs, and these are merged into the second theme in the form of water wheels as a monkey prances around in a leather vest and goggles. It's not something I've come across before, and I quite enjoyed watching it on a larger screen just to take in the full effect of such a bizarre concept!
Sunken City Riches is a slot that falls into the category of games that tease you with the promise of various trinkets and treasures, but they all effectively lead to the same place. The weird made me smile, but left me slightly bewildered, and those multiplier figures just felt like they were snatched away from me at the last minute without providing much assistance via the features along the way. As I said before, you may have a different outcome, and if the multiplier numbers are large enough, then the bonus game could be incredibly fruitful.
