Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians Review
With Playtech slots, there is always a certain level of expectations in terms of the games. Often, the designs are quite dated but the gameplay is vibrant and full of exciting moments - which is the case in Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians.
Playing on 5-reels with 25 paylines, Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians features an oriental design (mainly inspired by Ancient China) followed by free spins and fixed jackpots leading to wins of up to 2,651x stake.
Design
As previously mentioned, Playtech slots are usually quite tacky in terms of design and seem quite old. In the background, there is a nice enough-looking background of the Chinese countryside with pagodas and other Chinese architecture - but the colours are quite muted and there are no animations.
On the reels, there are different Chinese symbols such as spirit animals of turtles, phoenixes, and dragons as well as pots of gold coins and Chinese pottery. It all fits into the design quite well but just doesn't look too impressive for a modern slot.
Sadly, the audio for this slot is quite muted with nothing playing in between spins except the sound of spinning. We were hoping for a relaxing score or something tranquil which meant we were disappointed to hear nothing.
Gameplay
The gameplay is always something special in a Playtech slot as there is always something to do or trigger. In this slot, there are free spins and fixed jackpots that will keep casual players entertained.
Everything the player needs is at the bottom of the screen or around the reels. Players will be able to find the spin button and bet level buttons here as well as paytables.
Win Potential
Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians has a mixed win potential but nothing is too bad. Firstly, the RTP is higher than expected at 96.45% which is brilliantly followed by a high volatility level leading to less frequent wins but bigger ones in the long run.
The only negative with this slot is the maximum win of 2,651x the stake which is low for a high volatility slot and may put off some players. 5,000x to 10,000x the stake is generally the acceptable standard - so players may be put off by this low amount.
Our Verdict
There are many oriental slots out there and Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians falls into the huge mass of these slots. Whilst the gameplay is impressive and full of exciting moments, there is nothing original that makes the slot stand out.
Despite all of this, Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians will certainly appeal to casual slot players looking for something easy to play and one that will deliver some satisfying wins. If this sounds like you, then be sure to give Qin's Empire: Celestial Guardians a spin.
