Cluster pays grid slots are all the rage at the moment but they usually create a fixed grid to work with. That isn't the case in this creation from Rogue as these enormous reels can add up to 11 symbols at a time. It's a strange concept and I think some of you are going to like it!
Each of these seven reels can create between 1 and 11 symbols. The payout you receive will depend on the number of symbols involved in a winning combo.
The lowest payers are the royals and you'll need at least four of these to connect horizontally or vertically to get up to 0.7x and a group of 15 plus symbols is the maximum combo size.
Moving up through various punk rock symbology, you get to the purple mohawk and four of these will fetch you 2x when they combine in a cluster. The maximum group is a 10,000x payout.
Wild symbols are available and they substitute for all of the regular paying symbols, but not the bonus symbols. If you find a complete reel with 11 symbols on it, the reel explodes and an entirely new collection of symbols comes down onto it. This might create yet another win for you.
Bonus symbols are important as these take you into the Never Mind the Blocks bonus. 3 or more bonus symbols are required. The game advertises an unlimited number of cash blasts and this is great news as you could be there for some time collecting prizes.
Each of the reels takes its turn to produce blanks or cash multipliers and if there's a cash multiplier, you win a prize. It also keeps the reel available for another blast. If a reel does not produce a cash figure, then you see that reel close. The game continues until all of the reels are locked.
Players outside the UK can enter the bonus game for 100x but remember that it's not guaranteed that you will get the same amount back. I had a couple of turns and on my first attempt, I only saw 78x. The second time I played, the result was 32x but the third attempt grabbed me over 500x. You never know when things might go your way!
You never know how many chances you’ll get to hit a prize with each spin. The number of symbols per reel will change – up to 11. Fill a full reel and it’ll explode to bring in more symbols. Winning clusters add a wild as they disappear.

The potential lies in the bonus game – I'm not sure how big the payouts will be for most people during the base game. I saw a few smaller wins form here and there thanks to the clusters but they were nothing compared to what you can fetch when you're waiting for those cash multipliers to appear in the Never Mind the Blocks round.
It took me a few attempts to see a big payout but when I finally got there, it was over 500x. It's a decent return from a game that has a 15,000x max payout and the RTP is a little under 96%. The volatility is 3/5.
I'm usually a huge fan of Rogue's slot design but I wasn't completely won over by this slot. The animation is a little clunky and the various symbols didn't quite do it for me. That's not to say that there's anything wrong with it, it's just it didn't have me smiling with glee! There's a lot of stiff competition in the Rogue back catalogue and I'm still firmly fixated on Stacking Kong. It was going to take a lot to prize me away from that one and Punk Rocks fell slightly short, unfortunately.
