This immersive slot experience lets you change the appearance of your dice on a character sheet and level up by completing quests and defeating dragons. If that doesn't sound like a new and innovative way to handle a slot theme, then I don't know what does!
Four mighty heroes take on this Dungeons & Dragons style quest with players getting a chance to choose dice associated with specific characters and a possibility to level up and bring greatness to the reels.
The five reels offer low-paying and high-paying symbols that create groups of three, four or five matching symbols along 20 paylines. The monsters get you up to 1.5x and the high-paying pictures, which are your adventurers, pay up to 10x.
To move your character through the levels, you need to complete quests and you can take a look at the character sheet to keep an eye on your progress throughout the adventure. Your first mission is to find five wild symbols and once you've done this, you move on to level two. You are now an apprentice and your second quest is to accumulate 10 wins. Once this is complete, you need to find seven dragon symbols.
Wild symbols pay up to 40x and these substitute for other regular payers
The random encounters take place when this specific symbol lands on the first reel and brings you three bonus features. With each of the bonus games, you need to roll a dice and score over a certain value. The first game gets you up to 50x, the second brings up to 75x and the third pays up to 100x. It's possible to boost your initial rewards by up to 5x when you succeed in rolling the numbers you need.
Land three scatter symbols and you get to play 10 free spins and choose 3 of the random buffs. At each level, you're allowed to choose another buff and these will help to improve your wins. Lady Death removes the lowest monster symbols, Forgotten Temple ads 5 free spins, Abandoned Altar gives you 3 free spins and if you remove 5 dragon health points, you move on to the next multiplier level. Dragon health points can be diminished by landing adventurer symbols with special attack symbols.
When this special symbol lands on the first real, you roll some dice and play for big wins. With each version of the bonus game, you must score over a certain amount and you could grab payouts worth up to 100x and further increases are possible.
Three bonus symbols will get you 10 free spins and you can choose three random modifiers to help move things along. These include extra free spins and symbol removal. Defeat the dragons to move on to the next multiplier level.
At first glance, it seems like there are loads of opportunities here to hit big wins but it does go about it in a rather convoluted way. Landing regular payouts is fine and even the wild symbol is pretty self-explanatory but faffing around with dice skins and all the rest of it might be a bridge too far for some slot fans.
I didn't see anything land that boosted my balance particularly high and the same sentiment carried on through the bonus game. Moving through the various levels is a bit of a ploy to keep you spinning for longer and most of you are going to see through that straight away.
The volatility is medium/high and this was reflected by the fact that I saw a few of the bonus features trigger quite frequently.
I'm not sure what combo of events will need to gather during this game to get you anywhere close to a 20,000x max win but I wish you luck in your quest!
Anyone who loves sitting around in their living room with a group of mates playing fantasy tabletop games is probably going to enjoy this slot. However, as I mentioned before, it is a little overly complicated. For regular slot fans, you're going to get an instant headache and walk away pretty quickly but aficionados will take great delight in the character symbols and atmospheric soundtrack.
You can make out the games room background on larger screens but mobile phone users are going to be mainly focused on this large grid area.
There was too much going on for this game to hold my interest for very long and given that it's a Play’n GO creation, you know you're going to be spinning for a long time to get the most out of it. That said, I did feel like the bonus triggers were fairly generous compared to many of this developer’s other games. It’s intricate and fun if you're into that kind of thing, but I suspect the majority of players will be looking for something slightly different.
It's true that there’s a huge max win but I think you need to take that with a pinch of salt and aim for something more modest, which is perfectly possible.
