The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse seem a little fussy about how they hand out their top multipliers, especially if you’re looking to see them stretch across an entire reel. To be fair to them though, once they do get their act together, the results can be extremely lively.

Gameplay & Features

You begin this journey into the unknown with six reels and five rows. That's quite a substantial game area but you still only have 19 win lines to play with. The low-paying royals will deliver fairly unremarkable returns, but that is to be expected. Once you start moving past the four and five-of-a-kind wins, you'll see your balance start to grow with aces able to pay up to 10x for a six-of-a-kind. 

The picture symbols improve your balance with values between 0.5x and 50x. Wild symbols come in 4 distinct forms, bearing the names pestilence, war, famine and death. They can land anywhere on reels 2 to 5 and bring multiplier values and substituting powers.

Wilds lend a hand to help create and improve standard wins and added multiplier values are worth between 2x and 200x. The added extra that these bearers of bad news may bring to the game is the ability to expand across a specific reel. 

Reel 2 is blue and corresponds to the pestilence wild symbol – if blue wilds land on this reel, they stack to cover it entirely. The same can be said for the third reel which bears the red colour scheme. The yellow requirement covers reel four and the green ones match on reel five. 

Undoubtedly, these wild stacks are both the most exciting and potentially most rewarding part of the game and you have the option of seeing your spins produce more of these modifiers. To force each spin to guarantee at least three wilds, but not necessarily on their stacking reels, you will need to pay 60x. To make each spin five times more likely to trigger the free spins bonus game, you’ll pay 3x. 

Bonus Games 

Landing three bonus symbols is the only way you can naturally trigger the Devastation bonus game. You get 10 free spins and you'll find that they play out in exactly the same way as the base game. However, you have an increased chance of landing the wild multipliers. During the bonus game, you might also see extra spins come your way when additional bonus symbols hit the reels.

Reckoning is the most powerful of the bonus features and once again you get 10 free spins – you will need to land four bonus symbols to trigger the feature. It all continues in much the same way but there's one big difference. You now have persistent activated Death Reels! I'm not sure I've ever heard quite such a dramatic name for a slot feature. 

Wild multipliers that land on their connected reels become a Death Reel and once this activates, the corresponding wild symbol will become stacked regardless of which reel it lands on in future. Extra spins come with additional bonus symbols landing during the feature.
